I'm think you misremember the difficulty of the game in the PoP era.
No, 20 days sounds about right. There may have been an update in mid PoP or LoY or LDON that made leveling easier; I can't remember all the dates of the specific updates. Also, are you sure you played specifically in "PoP"... because the "PoP era" is different, that's a big range, with lots of updates. EQMac isn't just PoP, but PoP level updates, even less.

Although, I did just learn of the 20% exp bonus, that makes a big difference, but I still believe it would take 6ish months. Nobody would be playing 10hours a day like you remember doing. Old times for teenagers ten years ago, anyone here that would play EQMac likely is older and has plenty of responsibilities.

Anyways, like I said, you really don't know until you log in again. It's been six years and you have the mindset of 2008-2009. Think about it like this: three hours a day, every single day = 18 days /played after six months.

Beware of gay advertisement previous to video. I'm sure the gang here can come up with something better. I miss my old friends (and the people I would on a daily basis harass the hell out of)!

So, serious on the waking of the sleeper or no?

Also, does it require different keys, or can we use existing EQ accounts and just play on the Mac server?

Someone posted that in the other thread.

I think it'd take 3 months depending on how dedicated everyone was, give or take a month depending on the dedication and member size. The game is hard but it really shouldn't be that hard when you're aware of what everything (classes included) is capable of. Sure the rat is owning you, but they also give you a nuke at level 1 to kill it with for the cloth user.

Pictures make me miss old freeport so much

One thing to remember; You'd only need 30ish toons level 65ish to do it, equipped in NToV gear+...This is velious era raid content, and chances are we'd only have to pop one of the easier warders (3 are probably perma-down for Primal farming, since PoP was the first expansion to out date primals)

might be easier to just hack a bunch of their accounts, considering their password are all probably "eqmac4evr" or "iluvoldeq"

I still miss EQ from time to time, my wife has been harassing me about playing again (met her in EQ when I was in highschool actually).

I'm really digging Eve Online atm though, but if they launch a new server before Darkfall is actually playable then....

Though if you can loot defiant gear at launch I won't play. That's probably my only stipulation.

Then again, I NEED a Wurmslayer, like I need one....in me. Badasses assed looking weapon in any game, ever. Only item I've ever held and felt like I was invincible. I remember handing mine to a Sarkan in LOIO while helping out a lowbie guild in the fort, and all of them freaking out when they say the sarnak with it lol...you can't even remotely do shit like that in WoW.

So according to the 10 year video, there are 89000 items in EQ, over 3000 of which have not be discovered by players, over 3%.
I would seriously believe that almost all of these items are either impossible to obtain and/or are basically developer and friend only things that players are not intended to ever find.

LOL, I'd bet money this won't happen. You just won't find 30 people to do it. But hell, count me in if you start up. I'll at least ride the bandwagon until 1/2 of the crew burns out at ~55 ish hehe

You don't require additional keys, you can use your old eq account. Here is how to activate it:
1 - go to eqmac.station.sony.com
2 - click on try it free
3 - scroll down and click download now
4 - if you don't have an account, click on "click here to join free" otherwise logon with your account.
5 - click the activate account button

Yeah if there was even a slim chance I thought there'd be enough a month from now to try it, I'd steal my gfs macbook. But there isn't

It would still take that 25 days played to get 65; which sounds about right, I started a Bard with Luclin and everyone said I level'd fast as fuck and I was 60 with 22 days /played, but I was moderately twinked... There is no way a group could all get to 65 without 20+ days played on every single character. Think about all the facets... no powerleveling, no twinking, no powered spells, etc, etc. Gear and aa's aren't even really a big deal, we're talking about Velious. Anyways, point is, you can't remember how hard it is until you are right back in it.
Do I smell a prop bet? would have to be pretty large to justify the time though obviously.
