I had completely forgotten the name of this wow clone, so when I opened the thread and saw the pictures, I thought it was the next wow expansion. I did not doubt for an instant that the follow-up to Wrath of the Lich King would be an expansion revolving around The Fucking Barrens.

WoW crackheads and casuals would still pay for it.

Some day I shall hunt down the zone devs who created The Barrens (WoW) and The Commonlands (EQ2), and place their heads upon pikes, to stand as warning in front of any future game studio.

I never understood the hate of Barrens. I like leveling there, it is a very efficent place to level thans to good quest grouping and such.

Is it the enviornment? I always enjoyed the savannah-y African style myself.

Is it the chat? I wouldn't know, I have had my chat channels turned off since Beta.

Yea, I would normally agree but you have to look at the sheer amount of content and screens they've posted. It would be funny to do a few mock things and make some big announcement via IGN/Gamespy and hype some obvious carbon copy up, but at this point the joke is on them... well actually either way the joke is on them.

I have my doubts. He's with the group of guys who played UO for 6 years, then moved to AC because "EQ is for carebears."

He's still considering playing Eve online, but probably won't because of the taint of RL money.
