| Brad Mcquaid will overdose on opiates in the middle of writing what he calls the REAL spiritual successor to everquest 1. SOE will takeover the project and finish it, deeming it "Everquest 3: The Ruins of the Ruins of Kunark" and will be met with a grim launch, for all it will be is EQ2 with even more hotbuttons. Fans from EQ and VG alike will scorn SOE for ruining what could have been the first real next generation mmo, and the dust will settle while the game maintains a 35k pop, across 45 servers.

| Nintendo will continue to fail horribly with Triple A third-party titles as Miyamoto repeats his "This console is not for you" mantra towards non-casuals. Nintendo sales will continue to grow at an absurd rate as they steal everyone's money with another WiiPlay-esque pack-in. Sony's Home falls flat and all interest is lost in it as it becomes a further cesspool of crowds of a dozen male avatars dancing around a single Mangina avatar. No one expected anything more anyways. EA surprises us with more quality original IPs, gamers wonder if they're in the fucking Twilight Zone. Sean converts to a religion for the sole purpose of praying to a deity for a next-generation remake of Mutant League Football by the new and improved EA. His prayers are sadly not answered in 2009. World of Warcraft advertising is pushed harder than ever before, entering into the fast food chain territory.

My gaming prediction: Duke Nukem Forever doesn't come out in 2009.

My predictions: 1) Duke Nukem Forever gets another trailer, then its release date slips to 2010. 2) Final Fantasy XIV is announced and will be five games since Squaresoft needs to continue to milk the franchise to death. Tetsuya Nomura will still be doing the character designs and influencing the story, despite the fact he flat out sucks at both. 3) Resident Evil 5 is released, and massive nerdrage ensues as people realize that Capcom has retconned RE: Code Veronica out of the canon (if you don't think they've done that then listen to the trailer where Wesker states that the last time he and Chris met was at the Spencer estate in RE1, Code Veronica is also not mentioned at all in the recently released movie). 4) World of Warcraft continues dominating, loses a decent chunk of its player base to-- 5) The first installment of StarCraft 2 is released. People cry at the price of $40 when they were originally promised all three campaigns for a price of $50, then stop crying when they realize that it contains more content than most games at $60.
