Obviously you didn't play the first progression. They do too much policing the first couple months of new servers.

Just because I decided to join a forum a few years later doesn't mean I wasn't there for the cluster fuck of spring/summer '99. I was one of the assholes that sat in BB for half an hour waiting on the boat to FP only to get killed by a shark/gobbie while on that fucking boat. I was one of the poor SOB's that resorted to killing guards and Sgt. Slate because both Sol B and Lguk were 120+ packed. So fuck you for assuming I missed out on the level 1 ogre rush into Fear and the lev isle hopping in Sky(Air - whatever), the live GM events that gave out titles like "The Scaled Claw" and made Kithicor a shithole.

Every other post about EQ nowadays is talk about a classic server or another progression one, half of the fucking talk in this thread is about how people want to relive the nostalgia, the agony and the fucking pain in the ass that was EQ. Do you remember how many people complained that the first progression didnt last long enough in the first few xpacs? People seem to WANT to fuck around in the old trilogy Then I see dipshits like you talking about being bored and having nothing to do? Get the fuck out of here with that "sprinkle some AA plz" shit.

Bottom line: oldschool EQ sucked by today's standards, dont ask for it in easy mode (it already fucking is), and if you cant deal with that, GTFO.

First off, we hated on you because you explained the most basic bullshit that everyone on this board knows and remembers, as if you were a WoW generation joiner that picked up wikipedia and decided to explain us all about EQ. If you had all your chromosomes in the right places you'd realize everyone here knows what the level cap in Kunark was or when we could grind out AAs for the first time.

Second, if you actually read the fucking thread, you would know that the whole point of including AAs would be to ALLOW people to fuck around in the old trilogy. The last progression server was all fucked up because 150 players wanted the next expansion after two weeks, while the remainder of the population wanted 6-12 weeks more to actually hit cap and get their own taste of that nostalgic content before it was mudflated to shit.

AAs have nothing to do with making shit "easy mode" or anything. It would be about giving the hardcore poopsockers some shit to do while all the normal and casual players caught up. That way you can actually let people enjoy the content they came back to play in, which is the point of the server anyhow.

Now shut the fuck up for 10 seconds, read this thread and the one about the SoE community announcement and stop polluting the forum with uneducated bullshit.

Mobs now rarely, and randomly, drop armor/weapons that are bind-on-equip, just like monsters randomly dropped green welfare items in WoW. The weapons are nothing to write home about, but the armor has mana/hitpoints/resists/focii that are comparable to raid loot @ that level.

If they allow Defiant loot the server will fail, anyone who hasn't played in a long time is going to have the vet reward open to get a free set of defiant dependant on their level. Also that shit drops everywhere, even though it is rare it still drops everywhere as there are sets of it for every level bracket starting at like Lvl 10.

How the vet reward works is you get a sack full of 3 or 4 pieces of defiant + a weapon. Which type of defiant is based on your level and it is always the armor type that your class is. A player who waits to level 50 is going to get 3-4 pieces of 100+hp/mp gear and an obsurdly good weapon. Anyone who waits to level 60 will get defiant armor greater than anything you could get planes of power with a weapon to boot. This stuff is tradable and there is a piece for every slot.

Even the gear out of revamped Lavastorm is bullshit, like the burnished helm, which is better than most classes ToV helms.

Sony needs to put some level of effort in removing the the completely imbalanced items at least during the trilogy, though defiant gear and vet rewards have no place on a progression server.

The only reason I explained this most basic bullshit was because people are whining for the glory days of EQ while at the same time asking for this and that to soften it up a little or keep busy. The reminder was needed.

Lets leave the shit aside and think about the bigger picture here. The majority of the people want to relive their EQ days without 150 basement dwellers wanting to feel their e peen grow once more 10 years later. Sure it's going to be far from a joy ride but shit, give the people a fucking chance. Let those who missed the progression shenanigans go in with their nostalgia glazed memories and see what the game is today, maybe it'll make them feel complete or something and we'll see less of "back in my EQ days" bullshit.

This may very well be the last thing that SOE pulls out of its ass for EQ, so lets not go fucking it up past the state thats its already in and add more shit like early AA's.

If they have the same idiot (yes, *ONE* teenage dewd handled all of this on the last Progression outing) doing this for this round, you can bet it will be immensely fucked up. I doubt that retard has the capability of sitting with the EQ item DB in front of him and typing Ctrl-F, "Defiant" and deleting all entries and references.

If anybody remembers that idiot's name, please peruse the EQ forums to see if it's the same guy. If it is, I recommend we all avoid this new Progression outing like the plague.
