[WoW]Arena Season 5 about to begin - free lube for clothies

This is a thread to discuss the upcoming arena season. If your name is Makata or if you think being a rival is a huge accomplishment please do not post in this thread!

Basic resources:

Arena Junkies - World of Warcraft PvP Strategy and Discussion

Completely ignoring every and all feedback from every single gladiator, the new season shapes up to be the most imbalanced one yet. Melee damage is completely out of control, clothies are dying within one GCD - think of class-balance pre TBC for a good approximation of the status quo.

Some predictions:

Rogues will utterly dominate every single team. I predict triple rogue teams in 3s or double rogue/feral druid to tear up. Ambush/eviscerate specs kill casters in one GCD, and frenzied bite always hits for 8000+.

WarcraftMovies.com - World of Warcraft Movies

Paladins and shamans are the only healers that can sometimes survive the burst/out heal the damage.

Warlocks and priests are like the gimp in pulp fiction, and no, it does not get better with resilience.

BM hunter pets can solo most clothies. Do not take my word for this, please test it out.

I suspect that we will have the first month of horribly imbalanced arena season as all clothies reroll, Blizzard 'waiting to see more data and how the situation changes with more resilience, Blizzard realizing oops, this is pretty fucking dumb, resilience doesn't do anything, Blizzard making the needed changes after serious PvP'ers have all rerolled.

I'm not even going to bother. It's not worth spending 50g to respec so I can hike up my frostfire robes and bend over.

Its not just clothies, caster burst is also retarded. A PoM/Pyro mage can do over 26k damage now in 3 GCD's, more than an ambush rogue.

It is extremely broken right now, from all angles. I agree though, that perhaps the worst part is stealth based classes (Feral/Rogue), they can do 15-23k (Depending on crits) right out of stealth within 2 seconds. No defense, nothing. Its not because these classes do more than most, because many classes produce as much burst, but these classes don't have to gamble during set up time.

when exactly have rogues been 'on the wrong side' of arena balance? Season 1?

I don't think they ever were. It's just that the retard rate among rogues in pvp was astronomical. When you can kill someone with stunlock+SS spam, how exactly do you get "skilled" when there's no challenge involved? Very few rogues even knew how to kick to interrupt heals.

Yeah, you really gotta feel bad for rogues, always on the short end of the stick. I mean, fuck, they've been the hard counter to anyone who wants to do anything with a cast bar for nigh on 4 years now, and still they complain.

In teams of 3v3, if two of the players of the opposite team consist of any of these classes: warrior, druid, deathknight, paladin, I think the rogues are then unfavored.

I'm not familiar with druids that much, but we had 3 well geared lvl 80 ambush rogues beating on a single druid in bear form and ended up having to bail on the fight, we may have had bad luck or the druid use specials, but druid bears have always been difficult for rogues. Deathknights / Warriors take more than 3 crit ambushes to kill most of the time (and both have a lot of dps versus rogues).

I don't think wow was ever made to be balanced 1v1 in pvp for each character, and that extends to 2v2 and 3v3 to an extent.

What just annoys the hell out of me is that while Ghostcrawler is usually incredibly thoughtful and well spoken, he has this annoying tendency of waiting until the situation is untenable before going ahead and making any changes.

Serious PvP'ers were in beta feedbacking this stuff nonstop. Damage does NOT get better after you get massive resilience gear, keep in mind that in beta there was a short period where the vendors sold all the arena armor for free, and people used it to get up completely.

Look at:

WarcraftMovies.com - World of Warcraft Movies

That's not a particularly good rogue, he doesn't even use amazing strategies, he just finds a clothie and zergs him down, yet somehow GC says things like 'once you get more resilience games last longer and you will be ok'. This isn't even a case like at the start of season 3 where the few rogues with double glaives wrecked havoc, in this case any gimp in a guild that can clear Naxx can have a pair of 171 dps daggers and rip your asshole.

GOUGE crits for 2000. GOUGE!

At this point absolutely anyone who has played WarCraft for any length of time knows exactly what will happen. Three or four weeks of clothies getting murdered and full DPS teams destroying everyone, forums QQ to levels previously unheard of, Blizzard finally realizing 'woops, who knew', and some changes getting hotfixed in, rogues QQ'ing that now that they no longer two shot rogues they are massively underpowered and need some buffs.

You can quote this.

I was resto in seasons 2-3 with my druid, played my rogue in s1. I got the Gladiator title from s3, and I'm glad I did... because pvp is so retardedly broken I don't even want to do it anymore.

I'm feral now. When I'm resto I die in about 3 seconds of concentrated burst by any single dps class. Make tree form give armor? Okay, make it so a rogue or feral druid doesn't 2 shot me next.

Actually, I was in bear form the other day in wintergrasp with a rogue, a DK, and an enh. shaman on me. I ended up killing 2/3 of them. DK's are impossible to kill. I am pretty OP as a feral druid, because I've gone into clusters of people that really just suck at the game, and popped Berzerk and spammed mangle and maul. But yeah, hitting 3 people for 3-5k crits on mangle, and 2 of those for another 2-4k crit from maul = stupid easy, unless CC'd while it's going off.

Then I had a rogue kill me down from full - I am gemmed/spec'd for tanking, so I have 25k hp or so unbuffed in caster - before I could even get out of stun and go bear.

I can stomp most people, but even a keyturning DK that I jumped beat me so badly that I was actually embarrassed. They can just make up a 5 man team all on their own. One of them gets low, just play ping-pong with their team...

Full retard. That's what this arena season is going to be. Full freakin' retard.
