I joined a little late in the game (2001) so I never got a chance at mine and can't remember ever knowing a player that had one. Even back then, that early it was the stuff of legends. If someone had one, they kept it quiet. Fast forward to LDON, and the last 3 months of my major EQ career. Was in a group in NRO getting ready to go into an LDON dungeon, when in answer to me bitching about mana, a groupy hands one over and goes "use it, hand it back". I've never been an asshole in MMO, before or after that but fuck was I tempted. Server transfer, name change, the works.

One other item I've come to cherish in WoW is Lieutenant's Insignia - Item - World of Warcraft I like my loot here and there, but there are just so many 'unique' items in WoW that you hang onto forever...just in case. This quest chain ended so abruptly and Thrall told me how important it was...so like fuck if I'm ever going to get rid of it. Some day, there will be a zone filled with magical loot dropping creatures that drop only epix and only those of us who still have ours will be allowed entry. Some day... Chained Essence of Eranikus - Item - World of Warcraft Would be another one. I pray they finish this quest line some day. Hopefully it will play a part when the emerald dream expansion releases. I still use the thing from time to time just because of the flavor text you get when you use it. "My eyes! It burns!" Also a ton of 'humor' items I enjoy. I have this sitting in my bank... The 2 Ring - Item - World of Warcraft Pet Rock - Item - World of Warcraft A Steamy Romance Novel - Item - World of Warcraft And of course, the greatest trinket of them all... Six Demon Bag - Item - World of Warcraft Also, one change they need to add to WoW is a third, swappable trinket slot and have all those old 'useless' trinkets be swappable in them on like a 30 second cooldown for constant use. Cannonball Runner - Item - World of Warcraft Linken's Boomerang - Item - World of Warcraft Gnomish Battle Chicken - Item - World of Warcraft Thunderbrew's Boot Flask - Item - World of Warcraft Ramstein's Lightning Bolts - Item - World of Warcraft And of course all the old sploit items. The Lion Horn of Stormwind - Item - World of Warcraft Cause the entire enemy team to go LD when they attack you in AB/WSG? Yes please! Spider Belt - Item - World of Warcraft Completely immune to frost nova/entangeling roots due to 5 second re-use? Yes please! Green Whelp Armor - Item - World of Warcraft Pure rape until they nerfed the proc rate and lowered the affect level. Imagine if that shit had still been usable during arena's. Hoho! Can't remember the name of it either, but there was a mace that proc'd Divine Intervention on your target. Used to abuse the shit out of that in WSG to stop flag carriers. Pre-nerf TUF was also brutal. So many great items.

| in the same line from WoW: Admiral's Hat pre 1.8 it gave a 10 sta buff for 10 min or so to someone which stayed when you took it off. Pretty funny when half your raid was running around with that thing to buff the MT and others before hard encounters. For weapons, my favourite would be Death's Sting, Dagger from C'thun. It was so good at that time, because it was one of the very few items with weapon skill (=expertise now) on it. For armor, in the same line I fondly remember Aged Core Leather Gloves from MC, which I wore till Naxx I think, because of the +weapon skill. |

| I think my most fun item from WoW may be the summoned keg from Brewfest. Being able to plop a keg down wherever you want is cool. That said, the EQ counterpart (Brell's fishing pole) was better because it was more fun to get, felt like more of an accomplishment, and I liked its functionality a bit more. I could summon it whenever I wanted and then try to give it to random people. I much prefer being able to force the alcohol on people directly rather than relying on them to notice my keg lying on the ground and hoping they decide to take a mug. |

| WoW weapons: Armor: I didn't get far in EQ, but I loved the turtle shell helm you got from a certain dwarf quest. My gnome cleric looked like a badass ninja with that green plate on his head. Last edited by Snugglebear; 12-02-2008 at 01:41 AM.. |

Speaking as a rogue at the time...FUCK whelp armor. There was nothing gayer than being chain slept for like a minute because the entire other team was druids and shamans wearing that shit. Along the same lines as the lt. Insignia is the Certificate of Thievery in the bank, old deprecated flash powder and blinding powder, etc. My bank is full of old quest shit. The map from the Aq quest, weavil's diary, etc. As far as EQ goes it's been mentioned but I think of nothing more iconic than Jboots. edit: Bah beaten My fault for actually typing instead of just pasting the link and hitting 'post'

| I Self Lord And Master | No one has mentioned the Fungi Covered Great Staff (forget if thats the right name, I know there was a pre-nerf and a post-nerf version of it). It was all/all clickie from inventory. And the Testament of Vaneer is probably my most memorable camp. I was bound in HHP and was waiting my turn and killing time in SK. When I got the tell I ported back and began one boring ass camp. Still can't believe people put up with that shit. Thorny vine armor also has a special place in my heart. When I was a total newb I remember seeing a 50 ranger wearing full TV and wielding a mistwalker and I think that flux axe (maybe the whip from pof)and it just seemed like the most bad ass thing in the world. Sorta sold me on ranger type classes for the rest of my mmorpg experience. Another item no one has mentioned: I forget the name but that bracer that summoned shruikens. Was kinda useful for monks back in the day. Trueshot longbow was also a pretty iconic weapon for rangers/. |

As for item, I dunno. Probably my Black Ram, the epic mount I got before they redid the epic mounts in WoW. I rode that guy hard for years. He competes with my mini diablo I guess.

| yeap yeap | Staff of Temperate Flux for Wizards was fun as hell to grief people with. Nothing more annoying than being spammed endlessly with the graphic/sound it made. Haha, and oh yea. It was so awesome for making sure the Druids actually put Ro's on the mob on raids. Last edited by Erumaron; 12-02-2008 at 08:04 AM.. Reason: memory going :) |
