| I have to give another vote for the Stiletto of the Bloodclaw. One of the first things I ever really wanted on my first character, a rogue. Camped it with some friends for a long time. I remember at the time feeling so uber, DWing the Stiletto and a Tentacle Whip. |

| Eq No love for the Pumice stone? Insta click dispel with recharge via buyback was a PVP standard on RZ. Personally I loved that little orb that dropped from the Thought Horror Overvfiend in The Deep. It was a little 150hp or so rune hp buffer but when active gave a bonus to mana regen. Very cool and quite rare. Also, wasn't there some sword that procced an AE that wars could use with riposte do clear about 50 mobs in POFire at the same time?? Forget the name of it sorry.. |

+1 Internets | What could have been... As for WoW, I was lucky enough to get one of the Bindings of the Windseeker the very first day it was implemented live into the game. Nobody knew wtf it was. Being the guild MT, I was allowed to loot it. Six months later, clearing MC every day on reset, we still never got the 2nd half and it was off to Black Wings Lair. The Bindings still sit in my bank today. Nothing else in WoW has had or could have the level of satisfaction EQ items brought. I got in on the EQ action a couple months late for the Mana Stone, Rubicite, and Guise of the Deceiver. So, my first memorable EQ item is the Paw of Opalla. I camped the shroom in Upper Guk for 23 hours to get the last ring. I liken camps such as that to an olympic athlete training 4 years and winning a gold medal... WoW items? More like winning a blue ribbon at the special olympics. Then there was the (EQ Shaman) Jaundiced Bone Bracer. I think I paid 19,000 plat for it back in early Kunark. A lot of money for the time, but I would have paid 100,000 if I had it and it would have been with every copper. This item changed the way you played your character at a fundamental level. The things you could do with this item, Turgur's, Canibalize, and Torpor... 3-manning the Shroom King camp, soloing WW dragons in Velious, and actually doing a moderate amount of DPS on raids. Complete game changer. |

+2 Internets | (EQ) Singing Short Sword - Truly defined irreplaceable epic. (EQ) Shadowsong Cloak/Voice of the Serpent - MASSIVE power increase for Bards especially in the AC/DS department. I still use the click from this, I believe Secrets of Faydwer raid gear finally makes the click obsolete. (EQ) Composer's Greaves - 1 second click Selo's... again became obsolete in Secrets of Faydwer when the effect was given as an AA. (EQ) Rapier of Somber Notes/Songblade of the Eternal - click still hasn't been replaced. (obviously I play a Bard) |

+52 Internets | Staff of the Temperate Flux. No other item that I have ever seen had such usefulness and longevity.

| Favorite Weapon: I would have to go with the Scimitar of the Mistwalker. My Ranger won the 2nd of only 3 Mistwalkers on my EQ server (Tarew Marr) that weapon was an absolute blast to use! I would make it proc on some low level mob, tell the pet to back off and run the E. Common tunnel with my wolf pet for hours. ![]() Favorite item: I killed myself so many times with this damn thing. ![]() Last edited by Menion; 12-01-2008 at 06:48 PM.. |

As for WoW... Archmage Vargoth's Staff - Item - World of Warcraft Wherever I go, no matter what I do. The archmage is always looking over my shoulder. He has been present at every guild first kill, ensuring our victory over the forces of darkness and nodding in encouragement as we smite those before us. All praise and hail to he who hath blessed us with victory, to the great and venerable Archmage Vargoth. Amen. | |

| Yea its funny how I can't even remember a single WoW item that I obsessed over, but I can remember all this shit from a game I quit over 4 years ago. As a warrior I really obsessed over having a full plate of cobalt back in the day. I'm particularly fond of those claws that were like 5dmg 19dly. Not that great an item, but the speed made them so fun to use especially when there weren't that many low delay weapons around. Also skull shaped barbutes for the win. So sad, will probably never play an MMO again with such memorable items.

| Eight fucking pages of EQ nostaliga and not one asshole mentions the MANASTONE. Jesus Christ, people, simply unforgivable. Weapon wise, probably the Doljonimorinar, only because I won the paladin BoTB with it and it held a lot of unforeseen advantages. |

| I'd say Ragebringer but honestly getting my Serrated Bone Dirks was probably more exciting, they were my first set of good weapons really. I remember being so giddy that I'd have a macro to call the Darkness proc on and yell at rangers who snared mobs, overwriting the DoT in the process. Then again, the RB was something an entire guild helped me with and regardless of how you slice it, that shit is special. Quote:
Also it's funny that almost all of the posts here are from EQ. I really do miss that game's itemization. I'm so tired of the new MMOs that just take a generic formula, multiply it and add a generic surname to a weapon. So boring compared to the old days where some random mob in Frontier Mountains would drop a twig that ended up being so amazing it needed to be nerfed and went down in history. | Another weapon I forgot that I'm surprised nobody mentioned yet, god this thing came in handy as a warrior who loved to solo while using a weapon rotation that always started with my other favorite weapon (posted earlier, but now i have a pic) |
