| The Littlest Hobo of MMOs | This thread is making me remember some items I'd previously forgotten. Anyone recall the Qeynos Badge of Honor questlines that gave a see invis neck with pretty decent stats at the time? ![]() Or the weapon that allowed you to summon your own shaman pet, well, a couple of times anyway. ![]() |

| There needs to be a spinoff called "items that killed EQ," like the day they introduced player dyes so you can color yourself gay, and high end players ceased looking high end, thus ending all that mystique of seeing a player in full rubicite and taking notice. |

+6 Internets | Rogue 2.0 first, Khalashzar second, Uken spine spike third. Khalashzar was the first raid level dagger I acquired, as by where I am in the pic you can make a guess that I started my rogue late. Uken spine spike, oh how I both loved and detested you. I had this GoD abomination forever. It wasn't a bad mainhand for someone just entering into endgame raiding "per say", it definitely was unique from most piercers, It wasn't an an Inno rapier from yekesha, but rapier's are for pussies anyway. After a while the primitive spike on stick look got tired though, it really felt like I had had her equipped the longest of any. Oh and yeah I am offhanding Rage in some of these pics. Rogues were kind of spoiled with nice daggers, I was always one for a more "functional" appearance. I thought the jagged time forged had a nice look, small somewhat modest, save the gold handle; it was a bit shiny--but at least it was practical--as far as serrated blades go anyway. Can't find any pics of me wielding it or my tacvi dagger though. I'd think a smooth edge would make more sense if you wanted to stab something Afterall, wouldn't a serrated blade just be cruel and piss a monster off as much as the damage it inflicted? I dunno though...something about a green glowing dagger always struck me as uncharacteristic of one who wanted to go unnoticed, bling be damned. Anyway there she is; My 2.0 a month or two before I retired. You see daggers were different from other items to me. Sure I liked my super end game items, but for a rogue, a dagger is more of an expected level to reach. As much as you're satisfied when you get a brand new shiny one, if it's not the best in the game, then you consider it more in disposable terms and not as some solid piece of gaming immortality. I think that was really why I retired, when I got my 2.0 there was no where to go. It wouldn't be until at least 2-3? expansions later for it to be eclipsed; and therefore as a rogue I had maxed my potential as a fighting unit. The only place for me to go was up the guild ladder, and I found myself to young at the time, and still do, to manage 54 players in a fictitious environment: when I could easily experience more drama and better perks in the real world. | My warrior was a toy collector. What kept me playing all those years since launch was the fun clickies and proc-ies, really. Shrunken Goblin Skull Earring Worker Sledgemallet Jboots Cobalt Bracer (shrink) Prenerf guise (didn't get one before they removed it, but won it later at the casino, along with another un-obtainable item I can't recall the name of) Wood elf illusion circlet Human illusion circlet from VT Shield of the Immaculate (rightclick cure disease from inventory) Truncheon of Doom (Helped me solo so many things) Fungi tunic (kept me going when I wanted to quit, by rolling alts and using this) Earthshaker (when we posted a thread on Steel Warrior from PoFire field 1, 3 warrior AE group more people started realising what a gem this item really was) Blade of War (turned me into a threat superhero on the spot) Aten necklace ...and a zillion other items from VT that I can't recall the names of |

| I always liked the Weighted Axe (I think that was it) Used to be able to go to Permafrost and hand it to the Ice Giants and solo them because they only swung once every 15 seconds.. Then eventually they would actually make contact and smush me =\ |

| Shard of the Fallen Star - Item - World of Warcraft was a good one. I'm always kicking myself in the ass for getting my first rogue banned because I had one of those.

| I liked the Mrylokers Dagger. So rare cause they nerfed it after only like a dozen dropped from Vulak cause Monks were bitching about the Delay...Fuckers. http://eq.magelo.com/item/31224 Allakhazam.com: Everquest: Item: Mrylokar's Dagger of Vengeance ^^These are the un nerfed versions. Wish I could find a screen of the one that was nerfed. Aint that some shit...such a beautiful weapon nerfed to fuck due to whiney ass bitches. And of course the gnome Mask that dropped from a pre wakened Sleepers Tomb.\ UItems like this is what made this game so fucking awesome to play due to the uberness that came along with having jsut a single item.

+166 Internets | Almost forgot this one: Spirit of Aquementas - Item - World of Warcraft Prior to all the nerfs, it was -25 to the cast of any spell, and since waaaaaaaaay back in the day spellpower scaled the same with every spell (rather then dimi returns on lower rank spells) you could cast rank 1 frost bolts (or any spell with a 25 mana or less casting cost) indefinitely and actually -regained- mana while doing so as the five second rule didn't apply if you didn't use mana when casting. Could combine it with the MC drop choker of enlightenment that had the same effect and they stacked, allowing you to cast any spell with a 50 mana cost or less for free and indefinitely. |

+6 Internets | Messed up memory on that, Zehn. Yes, they did what you said, but when the prenerf versions were around, there was practically no spell power gear in the game, so the downranking could not yet be exploited in that manner to make big, free spells. It was all sorts of sex anyhow, though. Even max rank heals were like 400 mana, so 50 mana off was pretty fucking brutal considering most comparable gear had like +7 spirit +5 int. |

| There were still a couple low ranked spells worth casting for free... and stacked up it was like 100mp5 on when chain casting Frostbolts. That effect should make a comeback now that there's no reason to cast a low ranked spell anymore. |
