| i have all the respect in the world for bio-ware. they have a pretty solid track record. however, everything in the past 20 years that has george lucas' name attached to it has been epic fail. i really hope they find a way to make a great game. if it's a true open world MMO it will be awesome. if it's more like D&DO, it will suck hard. |

| I would say it is tbh, even with my definition. CoH/CoV had vast zones where you could run missions, solo grind, meet up while watching other groups kill the mobs next to you. DDO on the other hand had (at release, dunno today) tiny tiny tiny city blocks that were instanced themselves as soon as 10-30 ppl was in it because it could not handle "the load" meaning you would never see more then 10 ppl at the same time. Also those city blocks were just there to sell off loot and run between instances that were 30 feet from eachother. In my oppinion its in the "feeling" (and I know thats not a good definition) that your not alone or your group is not alone. Its about being able to see that you are actually playing the game with a large number of other people. Think about how Velious was with people huddling at the zoneline to Velks while you could look down the cliff to see a druid kite a drake and see other groups move up towards you. Or STV where there was full war on (if you played on a PVP server) or you had to compete for the damn spawns because 20+ people were around you looking for the poor tigers. If they want to make an "epic" StarWars game, they have to let us see eachother, not huddle in a 10 ppl cantina-instance to organize for the basement instance.

| Any game that was not UO or EQ1 was indeed an evil sin. Its not our fault the last half decade was a mediocre semi shitty mainstreamed parade of watered down kids games with no adult interaction( <3 hyperbole). Last edited by kasey; 05-27-2009 at 03:59 AM.. |

| UO, EQ and WoW are the only MMOs that have held more than passing interest for me despite playing nearly all of them, think there are a lot of people out there who would agree and are ready for #4. |

Dark Forces Jedi Knight X-Wing VS TIE Fighter X-Wing Alliance Knights of the Old Republic Republic Commando The Force Unleashed Hell, even the old "Super Star Wars" games on SNES, and the LEGO Star Wars games have been uber fun and good games all around. If I had to name some "epic fail" Star Wars games I'd say : Masters of Teras Kasi Knights of the Old Republic II (the premise was great, but the game was rushed, content cut, and riddled with glitches) Star Wars Galaxies (I heard the update made the game a bit more interesting, but that's like putting make-up on a corpse) Let's hope this trend is going to break eventually, but so far it looks promising (and the last game, The Force Unleashed, was great fun).

I have confidence in Bioware, but I'm kinda bored with amusement park type games instead of the immersive types

| Very entertaining video. I've always known, as everyone has, that they need to up play the other classes so it's not "Jedi Wars" and based on the video, they're doing that quite well. |

+11 Internets | Those animations looked great, very nice vid, thanks. The weapons looked awesome, however I have never been a fan of the "pewpew" sounds of laserguns. In SWG they always sounded anemic to me and here too. Never really liked them in the movies either tbh. ![]() Here's hoping for some more conventional weapons + sounds. Gimme the sound of Dooms rocketlauncher or double-barreled shotgun anytime! I am not very knowledgable about SW lore and canon, so not even sure if weapons like that are possible. Or maybe add some subwoofer vibes to some of these lasers. "Pewpewpew", you're it! |

Before the hyperdrive engines, you gotta have some villager at some point go "hey, this stuff burns FAST when I light on fire, faster than wood at least, hell if I mix these 2 powders, they just explode when lit!!". The progression HAS to be there. Last edited by Salshun; 05-30-2009 at 11:11 PM..
