Those warrior helmets are perfectly designed - they cover the mouth so you can't hear the constant bitching that pours out of the prima donna main tank's mouth, and they leave the actual skull exposed because we're talking about warriors, there's nothing to protect there anyway.

Totally... back in Vanilla when I had too much time and actually raided I was in a terribad MC clearing, BWL wiping guild. Doing MC sober? I'd sooner punch myself in the dick with a pair of brass knuckles.

Odds are the S5 warrior helm looks fucktarded on a tauren just like might. I could never in my life understand taurens who left that shitfest graphic on. Was like a cross between an elizabethan collar and a spike dog collar. It's like saying "I'm a pitbull who is too stupid to not scratch my head wound."

Hell, the classic four-horn look is probably going to abound with the T7 helm as well. It's lose-lose for taurens on helms as usual.

I really don't have any desire to play the game at this point. I don't know where people find the motivation to keep playing this game. Perhaps it's the social aspect? (which I care nothing about) The reasons I play MMOs are for character development, exploration and seeing the cool environments, and the gear -- but nothing feels unique or special anymore. I guess that's nostalgia talking and it's unlikely Wrath or any of the new evolutionary MMOs will restore those feelings. ::shrug::

I was in a progression oriented guild. They made me a raid leader. I started drinking. A lot. Especially in AQ. Fuck AQ.

I eventually left that guild and joined some friends on another server doing Naxx. Not top end guild, but we were 3rd or something on the server. Thats when I went the pothead routine.

The game just isn't as entertaining sober. It's like Rock Band of PC games.

There's a few encounters in wotlk worth doing but honestly if you're not into the social aspect there really is no point. You're better off just bouncing around between MMO's then, or just playing a different genre altogether.

MMO's have always been and always will be chatrooms with dragons in them.

There was a time I might have argued with you, but now I really seem to agree more and more.

I still really get up for well tuned encounters like M'uru, but with the WotLK date, and our summer roster issues, I don't think we will kill him now. Which frustrates me, when I have to farm for consumables for a fight we have stagnated on.

The more I realize I'm not having fun with the people I'm playing with, the more I realize the game itself is not what kept me coming back for so long. It was having fun [playing the game] with the PEOPLE I was playing with, many of them RL friends that, because we are all grown up, don't really have the time to hang out as much as we once did.

WotLK may bring back some fun, and I'll probably give it a shot, but if raiding turns into the same kind of grind its always been [the grind part for me is the effort I have to spend outside of raid to pay for repairs and consumables], then I'll probably just hang it up, and hope for a Starcraft MMO, or maybe, just play Wipeout HD. full time. man is that game pretty.

so would getting 25 quests completed before wotlk comes out, and then turning them in after it comes out work? I heard some people say it does work and others say you only get xp for quests completed after the xpac

I think that was brought up during BC launch as well. If I recall quests completed before the expansion released did not count towards your xp.

I thought I remembered having a bunch of elite quests in my log complete and then running around turning them in for like half a level while everyone clusterfucked in Hellfire the first day. I could be wrong but I'm almost sure I did that. Not that it made a hell of a lot of difference overall, and I'm not in a position or desiring to do it again.

it definitely counted in TBC - i did it, got to level 61 within an hour.

It will count in wotlk as well, but remember it takes something like 1+ million XP to 71, and 25 saved quests will net you max ~400k-500k xp. Also doubt things like dailies will give XP, at least anything that is a blue ! quest. It really is pretty irrelevent, you save maybe 2 hours... over a 200+ hour leveling curve. Its not worth it for Blizzard to over-engineer to try and prevent this.

Personally I've never done any of the netherstorm quests on my 5 box team, and I will do them all the week before xpac and then turn them in on release day before porting over to the new area.

Saved quests, when turned in, will yield XP.

However, saved faction turn ins that yield XP will not. I remember doing a massive AQ turnin. I got lots of faction, 0 xp.

I went from 70-80 with under 3 days played, not sure where you get this 200+ hour leveling curve. Im almost certain i can cut it down as well, since i actually know what im doing now.

You could blow through it pretty fast, but that begs the question: Do you really want to?

Btw, engi motorcycle requires exalted with that Wintergrasp faction to get the schematic ;(

???

Last I saw, it required the main factions (alliance or horde) at exalted, which is trivial. Which Wintergrasp faction is there?
