I think lots of peeps are complaining that their PVE servers will be ghost towns now.

BTW this was what I was talking about:

Betrayal
Betrayal is a process allowing the player to change from a good or evil alignment to the opposing one, and convert to the good or evil counterpart of their current class. In this manner, one can play a traditionally evil-only race, betray their city of origin in favor of a good-aligned city, and play a good-only class. Naturally, the reverse is also possible-betrayal of a good-aligned city in favor of an evil one in order to access an evil class with a good race.

Some PvE servers and especially Horde ones are seriously ghost-towns. When my guild called it quits and moved (basically because recruiting was a goddamned pain in the ass) we were the only guild on the server to be in Sunwell. Number two Hordeside was barely killing Rage and still had not popped Kael/Vashj.

I'm not sure that I'd pop a couple of hundred to move all my characters to a decent PvP server but I'll definitely consider moving a main. The only real hurdle is that annoying gold cap.

To be honest, although everyone is saying that PvE will be ghost town, I think that's only in the short term. In the long term, now that everyone knows that migrating a character or rolling a character on a PvE server isn't a death sentence, I think PvE server populations will grow. There are plenty of people that prefer the PvE play, but simply had to do PvP because it limited their options less.

No, Zangarmarsh in "A Team" (gogo drama-related inside jokes). We were a splinter off a guild that moved over from A-N when it was queued all to hell and back. We had server firsts across the board for TBC but still months behind the serious raiding guilds of course.

I imagine our fate was far from unique.

It will be interesting to watch population flow around - I expect a massive rush to PvP servers initially, and then people spreading out more so that they can be "top dog" w/out having to compete for materials and such on the AH and transfers are still free to pop back and forth.

The more joy will be when some of the new PVE -> PVP folks get curbstomped full to empty by rogues and locks while trying to level.

Mostly I see this as a way of levelling up to max in peace (as fast as possible) then transferring over. This encourages that a ton, even though the fastest way is RAF + getting dungeon boosted. Without that available, not getting camped or pvped is a fair speed increase...

They long ago made there nearly 0 incentive to do that stuff, but I still remember felwood pvp in the upper levels with a small group to be an amazingly fun distraction.

Oh no, we weren't the first or fastest to do anything, but we also spent tons of time just pvping in the open world against others willing to fight. Good times.

What a concept, a business trying to keep customers.

I guess where you work at Utopia Hamburger Inc, they routinely piss customers off so that they can keep paying you the minimum wage salary that appears to be way above what you are worth?

I'm just happy to get all of my characters back to the same server.

Having a JC/Engi on a server without a Miner REALLY sucks.

Getting my Mage/Druid over to my server will give me 2x Tailors, an Enchanter, Herbalist, 2x Miner, JC, Engineer and an Enchanter. (4 Characters total) Oh, and my wife is an Herb/Alch.

Tradeskill life is GOOD!

Time to reroll my Priest into inscription with the next patch!

Thank god for this. I'll probably move to Mal'Ganis after I hit 80 in WoTLK

Maybe I'll transfer to Laughing Skull and rejoin my first WoW raid guild - Deus Vox.
