| [EU Warhammer Online] State of the Beta So, I thought I'd start a new thread with this as not to flood the other thread with EU beta comments. Basically it's been 2.5 days now since the beta was supposedly launched in EU and still most people haven't been able to complete their beta account registration. While the retarded flames on other boards have reached epic proportions it's still quite worrying that GOA could not handle a simple thing as registering their future customers within a reasonable period of time. Personally I've been waiting for 18+ hours for the confirmation email to arrive after finally managing to enter my Beta key (Thank you btw Hatorade for giving it to me) on the temporary site they set up for this. Now it doesn't bother me all too much since I also have a US beta to try the game on, while I can't do that with my friends at least I get a chance to try out the game. I'm starting to have serious doubts if GOA will even manage to get their registration site in order for launch. If part of the trouble has been the incessant hammering of the site from beta users, how will this manage to hold up at launch when even more people are going to try to register their keys etc. If this is something that might happen maybe the US servers will start seeing a mass migration of disgruntled EU players, while this might not be a problem for US players how will it stand with Mythic? Edit: minor grammar error grr.

+3 Internets | Hope they work this out asap, at least it's better to have problems now during the beta than on release it's pretty easy to fix registration/user database issues in one week. They're really stupid for not testing this a week before, not the way to do business. Every software system I put out at work have some issues to work out, why they even wanted to do this on Sept. 7 is beyond me. Really hope they work it out, or get the fuck out of the way. | On a lesser level, the same is true for the WOTLK beta and EU customers. The EU PTR goes down nonstop and we are not getting premade level 70 characters. It is really annoying that certain US based companies basically treat Europe as a secondary market and give us really shitty service. |

| It's a fucking beta, they don't have to provide you with any kind of service. If they are crashing nonstop i'm sure theres a reason and i'm sure they are getting some valuable feedback from it, you know -what a beta is for. As for EU WAR Beta...well, a beta isn't just for the game itself, but for the database servers for accounts and stuff as well. I'm sure they are happy it happened in open beta and not for release. |

Do you think this will be fixed till the release the 18th? Would you gamble money on it? i.e. buying the product when you know that the US version will work for sure?

+1 Internets | I've been dubious about going with the Euro version as I have always played on US servers if a game is region locked but this time I thought I'd give the Euro version a try. GOA really aren't filling me with hope right now. |

| GOA ran the DAoC EU service. They were absolutely terrible at that and one of the reasons I won't be touching WAR-EU is down to them hosting it again. I have no idea why Mythic persist in their relationship with GOA. Are GOA even promising to patch in sync with the rest of the world now? When they ran DAoC patches to the EU were 3-4 months behind. My advice would be to get a US account and don't look back. |

| EU is a bigger gaming market now, that's ignoring the rest of Europe, at least in terms of dollar value. EU has twice as many people in as the US though, and some pretty relatively very poor countries too. Also looking at Warcraft itself the Europeon market isn't much smaller than the US one either, 2.5 million vs 2 million at the last numbers I can find. Given the popularity of Warhammer in Europe already, the initial numbers will probably be even closer that that. There will no doubt be a number of non-gamer Warhammer fans trying it out, God help us. |
