fun? not really. the Raiding is fun and if you are Serious about raiding, you do what you need to do to raid, we all did this for EQ, those that raid do it for wow. it is no different-hell getting badges during the raids can pretty much pay for 2-3 nights raiding via buying epic gems, if i remember correctly.

epic badge gems(on my server) sell for ~350-450g on the ah, they cost 15 badges, how many badges do the raid guilds get per week?

Some bosses drop 3, but most of them drop 2. Black Temple has 9 bosses, Hyjal has 6 bosses. After that, downtime can be on Tempest Keep and SSC (but, that zone is so god fucking awful, only worth it for Vashj).

Its sad that wow has progressed from a game that was suposed to be fun and remove the old EQ timesinks to a game that prolly makes you farm more to raid than EQ ever did. I dunno how anyone thinks its acceptable and its just piss poor apologist tactics to say that its ok because real raiders do what it takes to raid.

I don't think that is true at all. I still have my Badge Chest, legs, and belt and have tanked all the way up through ROS with no problems. And that includes fully clearing Hyjal.

On the subject of dailies, won't the gold reward be reduced dramatically when the ability to level to 80 is introduced? I mean they put that mechanic in years ago where if you were at max level then you received increased gold from quests instead of exp. Or are dailies just coded to give the same gold reward regardless?

The best badge gear (75-150 badges) is T6 equivalent, usually in the top 3 items per slot. Angelista's Revenge for instance, or the 150 badge Crossbow.

While it was pretty bad during Naxxramas (going so far as to get world buffs like dragon heads) and early TBC (this is why I quit a little over a year ago - work didn't allow me to farm consumables outside raid time so I was not able to raid), there is none of this any longer, unless you don't want to buy from the AH and farm it yourself. Selling 1-2 epic gems per week will be enough gold to keep with consumables, not to mention all the marks of illdari that your guild bank is hopefully distributing, plus guild bank paying for repairs, and the increased gold off bosses...

And they are making consumables even less required in WOTLK.

Repeatable quests don't give XP, this includes Dailies.

Edit: Apparently some seasonal quests and PvP quests do.

There will be no reason to do the level 70 dailies as, I believe, they are standard gold amounts, but unlike tbc, stuff like level 80 dailies will be in at launch. If the value of the level 70 dailies is too high in comparison, they'd probably be nerfed though.

Depends how much per day you put into it.

Make sure to do Karazhan badge run every week (takes 2-4 hours) but you get 22 badges for a full run. This is the best badge/hour you can do.

Do the heroic daily every day, this is between 4-6 badges.

Thats about 50 badges a week, but if you do more than the heroic daily per day, or start throwing in PUG ZA, you can do 100+ badges a week.

The best badge gear is 75 to 150 badges each, 75 for jewelery/cloaks/lesser armor/1handers, 100 for chest, 150 for 2h and bow.

Could take about 2 months if you just stick to badges, but if you start to do ZA and get some drops there (3rd chest rings are really good, as are some Hexlord drops), do some PUG ssc/gruul/tk, you won't need to fill every slot with badge gear.

Do Kara every week, do 2-4 heroics a day, then try and get into ZA

You'll get 200+ badges in a couple weeks or so.
