WoW PVP blows big monkey balls because of mechanics issues (arena, welfare epics, etc) but also its the same shit for nearly 4 years now. EOTS = AB++. Anyone who says "omg I love wow pvp" is functionally retarded probably, there is no way you can do the same thing for years and years and want to continue to do it for hours every week.

But the flip side, WAR RvR will become the exact same thing after a few months. Everyone is praising it now because its nice, new, different, etc. I hate all the WoW battlegrounds and I suck at arena, there is nothing really in WAR that makes me think "omg after 4 months of playing this ITS GONNA BE AWESOME EVERY DAY!". No, its gonna be the same shit - ah fuck, I need 5000 more renown points to get widget #83, and I need to grind some gold so I can buy some black dye for my new pants. I will have an uncanny ability to pick the server & side that always gets roflstomped in T4 and scenarios, so it'll be an endless panorama of losing all the time.

But for a few months WAR will be very fun if you like PVP, and after that, it's up to Mythic whether they can introduce new stuff fast enough. Blizzard has clearly failed in that area in the past 4 years, if Mythic can pull it off it'll hopefully put some competition in the MMO marketplace instead of this sad, pathetic monopoly we have now.

p.s. too many people think their choice of MMOs somehow reflects their personality and any attack upon "their" MMO is an attack on them, like sports teams.

Since the WoW comparisons have come up here, one thing I really enjoyed about WAR was being constantly busy in combat as a healer. The action point system is great. While I did run out occasionally when things got really hairy, I never had to pull back and sit around for a few minutes to become useful again; it was all go-go-go. That said, despite the frenetic pace, combat seemed more thoughtful and tactical than WoW's, as people stayed up quite a bit longer (no doubt a result of the constant healing) and there was room for a lot of strategy that did not necessarily involve simply killing the other side. I can't speak to whether it feels this way at higher levels, but it lasted to the high teens and I really enjoyed it.

its really not hard to think up ways to spice up rvr. The T2 keeps most people here saw are tiny. Wait til you see a T4 keep, the things are massive.

Wows problem with the same tired old shit is they made almost no effort to add new stuff.. its like FPS games, i have played them for the better part of 10 years and am still not bored... new maps, new guns, etc etc at a decent pace will keep things flowing.

I think mythic is intelligent enough to see their game winning the pvp fight vs wotlk.. and then in a year we will have an expansion that adds alot of the stuff war lacks, pvp flying mounts, tanks, etc etc.. there is literally an unending supply of new shit you can add to make pvp new and more fun without only doing what wow did where you release a new set every 4 months that has 1 percent more stats than the set you released last time... I am not sure yet whether WAR will be a success but i think its bad to say that a pvp game has to be dumb like wow and just rehash the same shit over and over.

What pitiful tools, they are kind of sad.
Please ignore me too! Because I know that the coke machines on all of my properties combined make more money than you do! /roflcakespwned

I voted yes. Who knows if the RvR will get stale in a few month's time, but I honestly don't have any other MMO to play.

What's it like having a 14" shlong, being able to bench 140Kg and holding a supermodel under each arm?

Man I envy you.

I'm not a huge PvP buff, so I suppose that's why I still prefer WoW.

I enjoy PvP, but I spend a lot more time doing PvE.

Wish I knew.

Anyway I posted picture proof of the one thing that I claimed in that thread.

No one cares about your money mate. Welcome to the internet, where the only thing that matters is that you're a retard. You reek of diesel legs syndrome.

(4) Global Cooldown Timers –This seems to be a hot topic for players to talk about. However, things aren’t always as they seem.
- Reality and perception are two different things, Warhammer has a GCD of 1.4s, WoW has 1.5s
- “Ability not ready” messaging needs to be improve, a sound effect if Global Cooldown in effect, maybe more cowbell?
- Need to improve on the feeling of sluggishness of the GCD and UI. Bug with display where our timer shows 2s when it is really 1.4
- The next best thing to a queue is? We will add in better "slop timer" to allow players 0.3s extra to pre-queue a second ability followup.
Well, there's progress being made already. I'm excited to see this to fruition.

To the douchebag who gave me -internetz. The reason I posted that is because people responded saying "But WoW PVP is horrible!". I guess since I didn't quote it, it was too complicated for you to conprehend.

Anyways, I never ended up trying the Sieges in WAR, but the WAR 'BGs' I did fight in were even worse than WoWs. I hope Sieges make up for that fact for the sake of everyone leaving WoW for WAR.

If Blizzard would just reskin the fucking BG's at least my brain would KIND OF register it as something different. Hell just fucking recolor the ground at least its throwing a fucking bone of remorse...

I'm not picking up WAR, I basked in my glory of not picking up AoC after everyone praised it as omg fun and saved myself 50 dollars when the shit started to appear on the roadside instead of beautiful woman boobs.

I don't consider WAR in the same state but the only game I will buy day 1 is 38 studios out of pure respect for their team.

So here we go:

PvE This one is no contest whatsoever, WotLK offers more complexity, strategy, depth, polish, and just a ton more content than WAR. If you like PvE your choice is easy, stick with WotLK as WAR doesn't even really come close. WAR does have public quests which are a great idea on paper, but they really are limiting when it comes to complexity and depth and are in no way a sufficient substitute for the huge variety of content offerred in WotLK.

PvP This one is not so clear at all, and I would rate WotLK and WAR about even. Whether you like PvP better in WotLK or WoW is really going to come down to your personal preference. If you like world PvP and Battlegrounds then there is a good chance you may enjoy WAR more (or if you couldn't hack it in arena and want to be rewarded more for time spent).
I pretty much quit reading here. If you are suggesting WAR awards you more for "time spent" than WoW I have my doubts that you have even played the game. I fail to understand how you can even begin to make such a comment with arenas and battlegrounds as trashy as they are. If any game awards people for "time spent" WoW takes the cake.

I put my vote down for "Yes". I personally haven't been able to play, but I'm so tired of looking at WoW that I'm willing to give it a shot. The only major issue of concern for me is the "sluggish" combat feel that people keep talking about. WoW has really spoiled us all with its instant response.

One other issue that I'd love to see Mythic address after a few months would be to shift focus back to the PvE side of things. I love RvR, keep sieges rock my socks, but there are times when I just feel like crawling a dungeon. If Mythic can pull this off, they'll have me hooked.

Does anyone know if they are going to have a "lifetime sub" a la LoTRO?

I hope not. It's got enough PVE as a side dish, to mess around in and play with when not RVRing. Making PVE focus, leads you down the path of balancing PVE and PVP for spells/abilites/equipment. Which then leads to omg its too easy to pvp for gear, or pve for gear that then stomp me in pvp, blah blah blah. Yeah no thanks. Stick to your guns and continue on the path you set and the niche you want mythic.

PVE = WoW. Your not going to beat this game atm for PVE, its got too much experience, knowledge and fan base.
