Funny you should mention this. I was in Phoenix Gate tonight with a guild group going up against another guild group. We were down 150-90 AND both flags were picked up when the clock hit zero. We killed their flag carrier and sprinted back to cap the flag which put us in front 165-163 then everyone just started killing whoever they could find before it ended. We ended up winning 169-165.

It was easily the most exciting scen I've done so far despite us winning in garbage time. We opined afterwards that at least 1 order player probably quit and a few more mice and keyboards were broken after that loss.

The scenarios play so much better when it's actually close. Yeah, blowouts are fine and all for your xp and r.xp. But if there's a really close match, it just makes it all around better.

We've had a match at the temple. Both sides were slowly inching towards 500. Less then 10 points difference starting in the 300s. End game on that eventually was 497 to 500. LOL. There was actually chatter in /sc.

I know alot of people don't like the amount of knockbacks in the game, but it's probably one of my favorite things thats come up in T3+ RvR, it adds a whole new level of strategy and CC that doesnt actually take control away from the player. Constant situational awareness is needed in certain places like almost anywhere in talabec dam, And just knocking people into certain spots can change entire battles.

So...after 10 days what's the verdict on WAR? I understand nobody has seen the endgame but how does the game in overall feel? I'm inclined to try it out but i'm a bit apprehensive after AoC.

On the slider from VG---AoC----------WoW, where does WAR stand?

Tied with WoW for me, but i still plan on playing both.

Never doing Arena again, or any BG.

Your missing out on major fun.

AoC was crap compared to this. No need to be scared. Find a guild though, guilds are very important in this game. I almost get that everquest guild feel in this game.

If you're after PvP, can't go past it. If you'd rather raid, don't bother. That's pretty much what it boils down to.

I agree, I dont have any knockbacks yet but they certainly necessitate you being aware of them. Getting punted off a bridge is as good as a kill in some scenarios. I'm definitely leveling a tank at some point.

The game is great and worth buying. However even its first year wow had more depth. If your a powergamer your likely to be bored with this game quick.
I'm treating this game like an FPS. Something i can log into whenever i want and have a little fun. It is important to have a guild, so i hope many of them can support us part time players.

Last night i logged in my r19 r17 rune priest. I was doing scenerios in Murkains, when bored, i ran into fangbreaka swamp PVP area alone.
I'm gonna die right? Well i start messing with a few of the keep guards when peeps start showing up. First it was just me and a witch hunter, then an ironbreaker too. We kill a few lone destro trying to enter keep then we get bored. So we go to take a tower, while we are doing it we get jumped.
After i spawn i yell and a few more peeps join my group, we run back and own the destro and take both towers, wondering where the destro zerg is. By this time more people are sending me tells and i have a small warband going. maybe 10-11 peeps. So we travel along the long route back to the keep sniping destro on the way.

When i get to the keep theres people all over asking to join so i have a full warband going asking me what to do! I have only been part of a few zergs at this point. I start telling people to focus fire and call out resses. I pass out a few guns and one ram i happened to have bought when i saw they were only 20 silver. Now, still only one warband, we break down the doors and kill the first floor defenders. Destro are finnally defending there turf amazed we are there because its almost prime time.

Then we half wipe on the keep lord! oH Noes!! party over right?
Well i run back cause i can't get a res and we all run right past the destro waiting to ambush us. I use zone chat...yes zone chat to tell all the late people who are not in warband to defend the bottom floor at all costs. I quickly yelled out five tanks names and one to tank keep lord and i tell everyone im healing that tank, lets go! we go up and own the champions, lord and all destro up there! I think it was our 5 bright wizards that helped so much. WE TAKE THE KEEP AND I WIN SECOND PLACE!

The reason i told such a long story? Well war has incredible moments like this that no other game can give me. What a rush! And it happened because i got bored grinding. What are you going to do when you get bored in other games?

There are several reasons they are viable, but in the end it comes down to Divine Assault being one of the best burst healing abilities in the game, and WPs having some key buffs/abilities in AE Shield, AE HoT, and AE Heals.
Okay. Then let me ask this: Does their gameplay remain as fun? I love the concept of not just spamming heals, and having pretty nice debuffs/buffs to throw around.

Also, does that assume only one viable spec, sir?

Thats one thing I love about the WP's level 40 skill. If I read it correctly, its a front conal AE knockback.

Why are the guilds so important? Unlike wow, you can play w/e you want, whenever, you dont need 40 people all together, you can just pick em up.

I mean, I do like the social part of it, but gameplay why are the guilds so important?

Sustained coordination on a larger scale than a few people on your friends list mixed with random pugs?

The guild leveling system ads just more depth to the experience IMO. I am sure people can give you other reasons (coordinating fights, avoiding PUG's in Scenarios etc), but I really enjoy how they level up and get more and more perks.

It just adds to the fun for me.
