Really there are only 2 production skills - apothecary (potion making) and talismans (think jewelcrafting in WoW). You can remove apothecary entirely and just make potions drop from mobs and/or vendor bought. You can remove talismans from the game entirely by just getting rid of talisman slots on items and balancing items accordingly.....in fact it would even make it easier since you wouldn't have to constantly factor in talismans when trying to balance your item database. I just think tradeskills aren't really important in a PvP game as anything other than a timesink. Games like COD4 and TF.....do you see characters needing to mine metal to make better bullets, armor, etc? The fun is in the killing. That's where the fun in WAR is as well, for me at least.

| Romo is a manwhore | Well, they felt the need to have something in there for the people who like to tradeskill. I agree, the process seems tacked on but I don't think it will ultimately have much of an impact on the game itself. The things created are complimentary, unlike DAoC which were anything but. |

I am running a beast of a machine + installed WAR on a freshly formatted second HD though. Also the game is pretty fun at least since I was missing PVP so much and I never did any sort of beta and really only started reading about the game this past week. Did a RP to R/RR 8/5 and then swapped to a WH which I got R/RR 8/8 and love to death so far. They are so stupidly OP in T1 ;[ I do despise Trip 'Em Up spam and crap like that though on both my characters. I'm sure it only gets worse later. PQ's are really great too that I've seen. That one in nordhelm or whatever with that giant that knocks down the trees is e-mazingly cool for a newbie to see. Also the graphics suck even with everything maxed. k done rambling ;O

| So I have had some fun playing WAR from closed beta to open beta to live. However my recent extensive play on live has just convinced me even more that WotLK is a much better game. By that I mean the polish, the mechanics, the responsiveness, the quality and depth etc. Blizzard just makes higher quality games. Going back and forth between WotLK and WAR, WAR just feels like you are playing underwater or in molasses in comparison to the super crisp and responsive WotLK.

| Mythic Entertainment | Warhammer Online Because finding 1 of 125,325,532 WAR class summaries is too hard. |

| But you'll be playing the same thing with WoTLK as you've played since vanilla WoW and TBC WoW ad inf. Because they never do anything different and just want that sub monies. I am not even a fan boy of WAR as I just started playing yesterday but I'd rather spend the next year 24/7 playing it than one more day of WoW (and that is with over two years, dozen 60+ chars, end game raid experience et al) but I would say that with a lot of other games too in place of WAR as well. I simply am tired of giving money to a company that lacks timely updates and almost zero creativity unless it adds to their bottom line or them caving so that every single person without fail is able to get close to or equal to the rewards of the top tier. It is not fun to me and I'm not even being elitist but even skill matters little when everyone can win eventually due to game mechanics and content nerfs. I'm just glad I sold out big early on and the few RL perks WoW afforded me through friendships and other nonsense from the time spent =] /derail off |

| I like WoW I like WAR Get that shit out of here. Both games are good in their own right. If you like polished PvE content raids WoW will be were it's at. If you enjoy fighting others in a PvP environment then WAR is the game to be in. If you prefer post there's already a couple of threads like OMG WoW arena that you can fag up with Makata. Nobody in this thread gives to shit if you are going to play WoTLK instead. Quote:
On a side note has anyone collected some of the Armor sets? I have been working on Teir 2 keeps for a chest piece since to my understanding a full armor set also unlocks new titles for your character. There are also a couple of instances apparently for late teens early 20's in the cities. I haven't heard to much about these if anyone has gone through them. Trying to get an idea if some of these areas are worth going through before you out level them.

Sure, check this guides here: WAAAGH! Hammer » Guides Once you pick your favorite ones, go to Warhammer Alliance and read on their forums, I would suggest trying every class up to level ~10, it's quick and gives you a great idea of the class. As an example, on theory I should be a Warrior Priest/Disciple (like many folks here) but when I got to play those I just freak at the amount of stuff to deal with. I challenge the locals DoK/WP to top the healing charts on a scenario while cultivating [soil+water+nutrient] the whole time! Man I tried to do that and wasn't nice at all. X)

Personally I look forward to when I can get rid of all unitframes except for Squared plus my two targets and my own bars in a HUD, just like how I have my UI set up in WoW. All Squared really needs for that to happen is corner support for buff/debuff indicators like Grid. Well, that and Mythic needs to stop forcing their shitty unitframes on you. You can't hide the warband in the normal layout editor, and even if you do it in a /script command the thing comes right back a second later. Last edited by Vorph : 09-23-2008 at 05:04 PM.

| Does anyone else not have their copy of the game yet? I haven't been able to play a day. I try to call EA/Mythic to get my account reactivated, maybe with proof that the game is on the way--like a receipt or somesuch. Only I get a message that tells me that customer support won't help people who need to do this. Seriously EA? At least field the complaints you get so you can measure how many people are effected rather than giving us some automated bullshit redirecting us to the Warhammer Herald (which, might I add--tells us fucking nothing new). I bought the Collectors Edition. The headstart will be nullified by the time I get my copy of the game. Awesome. Last edited by Galgor : 09-23-2008 at 05:06 PM. |

| participated in a pq today, went afk at the chest after it was done, when i came back from afk, they were fighting the boss again, and i was able to fire 1 arrow before it died again, hoping for some influence points for finishing, but actually ranked first. i have always thought pq rankings were often off. but now im pretty sure something isn't working right... |
