WTB more order on Vortex. No t2 scenario all night
Does anyone know if the free server transfers will be for everyone or just the people on the capped servers? This game is going to suck shit if it ends up being completely dead after t1 because of order population.

In hindsight, Mythic should have never pre-released the server names so far in advance. That allowed people and guilds too much time to plot out which server to choose. On the same servers that were overcrowded tonight, there were 300+ player queues by 9:05 Sunday morning, all due to guilds given time to pre-plan rivalries based on server declarations made by other guilds.

Mythic should have forseen that, and not released the server names at all. If the server names were unknown until they went live at 9AM, I guarantee the overwhelming desire for most people to start playing immediately would have caused many guilds to quickly settle on a server without taking too much time to determine where other guilds were going, spreading out the population more.

Secondly, Mythic could have designated time zones on servers. I know all the North American servers are located in Virginia, but if the first 8 core CE servers had been designated as 4 PST and 4 EST servers, it's highly likely that people would have spread out among the initial servers much better than they actually did.

But whatever happens, I just hope Mythic doesn't wait to implement a fix. Start offering guild transfers off the high population servers now, before full release on Thursday because this is the only major issue spoiling the game's release, and they really need a solution before the masses arrive.
Mythic didn't predict that people are fucking dumb enough to complain about not being able to all squeeze into one uber server without any repercussions.

I agree with what they had done to ensure that there won't be any dead servers in the near future. Everyone wants to be in a lively server, and the best way to make it fair for all was to spread guilds out.

There is still enough time for guilds to reroll to another server, it's not like the game has been out for a year or even 3 months already.

This.

What did people think would happen, when they all tried to cram onto Skull Throne or wherever?

Those of you complaining about queue times have no one to blame but yourselves.

Moved to Avelorn from Phoenix Throne just to avoid a possible full server on the 18th, hopefully it won't be the other way around.

We can get back on our feet on T1 in like 2-4 hours.

I'm on Vortex too, but on Destro. I was cued up for the greenskin/dwarf t1 scenario for about 3 hours and never got in... a bug I take it.

This morning it was like 20 minutes for Ekrund. Nordenwatch was about 10-20. As the day went on it was longer. Queued for Ork/Chaos t2s tonight and in 5 hours never got either.

ugh!
you don't download the client from D2D directly. When you hit download it emails you an email. Look in that, it will take you to goto a mythic link, it will probably make you create your mythic account, then the mythic account page will give you the link to d/l from D2D/fileplanet. Its not a bug, just some shitty loops, I never have a problem with D2D :\

I gotta hand it to Mythic.

The servers were all up yesterday at 7AM just like they said they would and me and my buddy were able to play to our hearts content with no lag, no crowding, no crashes and crystal smooth framerates on highest quality graphics.

DAOC's opening all those years ago was a bright beacon in what had been up to then a horrible sequence of disasters for MMO launches (remember hanging out in the General Chatroom that served as a server select for EQ when your servers crashed continually?) and WAR seems to be echoing that launch as well.

The only problems I even saw yesterday had to do with the morons who all decided to kram onto the same 4-5 servers meanwhile tons of other servers never got higher than Medium population and were a blast.

Most frequent opinion heard in open channels last night : "Public Quests are the best thing ever!" and they really are.

Indulge me while I vent a bit. Usually we get good teams in the scenarios but I had a string of 3 out of 4 bad ones last night.

Attn: Order players on Skull Throne.
RE: Tier 2 scenario. Stone Troll Crossing.

Stop fucking around and killing random stragglers. The point is to get the flag and cap the 3 points with it, while stopping them from doing the same. Stay together, run interference for your flag carrier. If they have the flag, kill the person with the flag! It's a big skull running around on the map with a damn beam of light shining down on him... hard to miss.

Unless you prefer the 1-2k xp over 10k+

Order on Phoenix throne seems to suffer from the same problem. But you won't see me complaining about that

I can't remember it exactly, but I swear in WoW that among the PvP guilds they didn't know the server names at one point, so instead of them all going "Archimonde!", it was something like...

"Okay, they're being dicks and not releasing server names. So here's what we're going to do.....Central Timezone, first PvP server alphabetically...LETS DO THIS!"

..or something like that. I can't remember the exact method anymore, but there was discussion on how to get everyone on the same server even without server names.

There's no way Mythic could've stopped it.

In a sick way I kind of enjoy it, though, it's becoming a tradition to utterly smash a few servers into the ground population wise if there's any PvP.

Ha this reminds me... got a similar tell from a friend along those lines. "PQ's are awesome!" and when I showed him the little Open Group button: "... Holy shit, why doesnt everyone do this??"

Very good synergy with those two systems. Perfect for a quick, productive session.

I played a lot yesterday as well on Phoenix Throne with no issues that I can remember. At least none that I care enough about to give a big finger to Mythic over.

Great game with good times.

Didn't they put caps on the server so they wouldn't max out now, and once the game releases and people stop joining the queued servers, they will remove these caps effectively getting rid of the queues?
------------------

Also, I got my ironbreaker to 10. I thought 10 was supposed to be my "dps machine level". Instead I got 2 interesting abilities that I wasn't expecting to get. How usable are these abilities? The first one is sort of a soul link/guard (from FF) where the person I am guarding redirects 35% of the dmg to me. The other ability is called "hold the line" where for however my AP lasts while being drained, I will take about 50% less dmg from spells and melee. Also everyone behind me when I use that ability will get a bonus to defense. So basically I become a huge shield The downfall to these abilities is that you have to stay close to your target in order for them to work (including all my buffs str, wisdom, armor, toughness ~ last 20 seconds each its own ability) It seems this character will have interesting strategies in both pvp and pve with these types of defensive abilities.

Edit: Hey that is me in the picture!

Second edit: Btw, I think the main purpose in scenarios for me so far has been being that blob next to the capture point whos main purpose is to prevent the opposing team from capturing it, meanwhile either slowly getting progress on the capture or waiting for the rest of the team to finish killing the opposing team. Btw, this is how I envisioned WoW pvp would work. Each character being balanced in a rock paper sissors (tank, dps, healing) where each class had its purpose. Instead they made every class into a Rocpassor where they can be all three depending on the talents they had. Although in Warhammer, it seems like the DPS classes are getting fuked at low levels... or they just plainly need to learn how to play. A lot of the time I see these DPS classes going for the tank first, meanwhile I am trying to solo this healer and spamming my knowckdown whenever is up, just to find out he can outheal my damage while healing the tank that is getting "dpsed" down.

As for Public Quests:
Last night I was doing a PQ with a friend and he got invited to a group while still in my group. The result was that both groups got merged into one... which was pretty awesome!
