Eh why? So players can feed on people that don't stand a chance? I like what they've done, and may even make a character on such a server.

Because I want a server where they take off all the kid gloves and just let anything goes. That's why. I want to gank, I want the threat of being ganked, I want to open the forums and see them filled with the tears of the weak. Simple as that. It's not like their wouldnt be plenty of Core servers to play on.

Also have issues with some of their choice on UI restrictions, no target of target, no method of retrieving enemy casting. Im sure there are more, but I havent really started delving too much in to the UI capabilities.

On a core server, you have the option to turn pvp on or off. On an open server, it is always flipped on, but if you go anywhere but where you are supposed to be, you get turned into a chicken.

At least describe the differences properly

There's no PvP switch. Basically on Core servers, outdoor zones have safe spots you can level in--usually split into the appropriate Destro/Order sides. Then there is PvP in the battle objective areas that is always "on."

For PvP Servers, the relevant safe zones are now open PvP.

This.

I hate to break it to all you Sullon Zek e-thugs, but the days of that type of gameplay are over. No MMO publisher is going to want to lose subscriptions to griefers, and let's be honest; that's exactly how most people would describe the behavior you want to be enabled.

So what is the complaint here. It sounds like it is pretty much open pvp on all outdoor zones?

The complaint is that higher level players still cannot go down to lower level zones and hunt players in the open PvP zones. They become a chicken :[ But for all same tier players, it's open PvP.

I stated the complaint. If you go anywhere but your clearly defined level designated area, you get turned in to a chicken. Doesn't really seem that "Open" to me.

Face it, the challenge and threat of an even playing field is fun too.

Picking on weak players that have 0 chance of beating you? That's not fun if you are anywhere close to being a top player.

I see. I guess I have mixed feelings about that.

It would be fun to have complete open pvp. just call a high lvl buddy or shout out for help. theres always someone with nothing to do that will help.

then again it would suck to get raped in the ass with a crude wooden object without being able to level or do anything about it...

but then again u can level up eventually and on even terms to get your revenge on that asshole which is the greatest thing ever.

They should at least have one hard core open server. i would play in it.

Gotta love the random -internetz with "S" as a comment.

Ruined used to be a Sullon Zek guild, so I know all about the griefing server and what it takes to be on one. Keep on trucking on that reputation wagon though!

People used to use this as an excuse to corpse-camp newbies in Tarren Mill; "we're just trying to get higher level people to come fight us!"

Unfortunately, the reality is that some high-level player doesn't give a crap if you're getting ganked, and certainly doesn't care enough to spend time traveling to rescue you.

People who want "open PvP" simply don't like fair fights. No amount of "explanations" change that very simple fact.
