Except one of the large reasons that WoW has so many subs is because it runs on just about any piece of crap computer. Laptops with barely any ram and a terrible on board vid card like my sisters computer, and yeah, she's killed Illidan.

So thanks for telling us, but we all think you're wrong and the numbers will bare that out very soon. The only way this game may fail will be more attributable to Mythic turning into failcom post launch. (I don't think this will happen but who knows)

Will they lose some retards that think Graphics>Gameplay? Sure, but not as many as they'll gain because they love the fact that 200 people can fight in one battle without destroying the gameplay. Those idiots can keep their AoC subs, I'll be happy right here.

Are you kidding me? I'm probably rolling with the number one alliance raiding guild on my old server in warhammer, you know why they're all buying it? Because there is no motivation to continue playing until Wotlk, just like pre tbc...the raiding guilds are already struggling keeping people interested when they know another gear reset is coming. They'll get the sales for sure, it's up to them to keep them.

Launching before Wotlk is probably the best possible thing they could do.

Thank god its not then right? It's not cartoony and its not vanguard style graphics, its a middle road.

All they are going for are the people who log in and BG every day, for honor gear for months on end. Plus those raiders that want a side pvp game to go play when needed.

Hell Myself will have wotlk for pve, and war for pvp. Stop trying to pit one against the other, and stick to the book forum there korioni.

I enjoy both graphic styles, wow is good for its enviroment and feel of the game. War's matches their enviroment and feel.

Plus i bet people are going to be a little shocked once Wotlk's graphics go in, and all of a sudden their 2001 pc cant run it on High settings with 60 fps.

Just to give a personal experience. During one of the first high end beta iterations (subject under NDA) I had approximately 300 people on my screen at once and I was running 17fps, and my computer is several generations old.

Same, and they have optimized the client since that event, including settings to turn down spell effects - the biggest cause of choppy FPS.

Had some pretty large keep battles during PW as well and the fps was perfectly fine. I can only imagine the slide show it would of turned into if it had been AoC or Vanguard with that kind of battle.

There's been a lot of system spec talk in the thread lately, so if anyone has a similar setup, I'd appreciate answers to the following questions.


Will I be able to run the game smoothly?
Will I be able to run the game at anything greater than a slideshow in most RvR situations?

I think WAR is launching at the perfect time and I believe it is catering to the right crowd: AKA the folks who bought AoC thinking they were getting a REAL PVP game instead of a broken (but attractive) tease. IF Mythic can iron out the bugs, make performance acceptable in large scale PVP (and it sounds like that's already the case) and keep the servers running smoothly during the opening month then there is absolutely no reason they wont meet or exceed AoC's numbers.
