One thing I'd have liked to see is the doing away with big neon names over an enemy's head. Once you've targeted them that's fine, but I'd like to be able to hide in bushes and such more effectively without being spotted from a mile away

Totally agree. This is something I've always wanted in WoW, and somewhat disappointed that WAR hasn't implemented it either.

I tread lightly when commenting on other companies games, but is anyone else shocked/surprised that the game is due to 'launch' in under a month after playing this weekend?
I desperately want this to be a great game, I love the IP and it has legs like no other Fantasy IP in existence imo, but I was incredibly surprised at the state of the product this weekend.

What?

In terms of content and gameplay at launch, WAR is in one of the best positions and the majority of gamers agree on almost every forum.

Stuff like pathing bugs were introduced only in the last patch before Preview Weekend. It wasn't an issue in the rest of Closed Beta. Stuff like GCDs have improved dramatically too with more adjustments down the line.

Uhh not sure how many MMO launches you've been apart of Curt but this is par for the course. WoW had it's share of launch problems too. Show me a MMO that was ready at release and I'll turn around and show you a game that has no features.

Most of us have only gotten a 3 day glimpse at what WAR is and we have no previous WAR experience to draw conclusions from. According to their CM, the AI pathing only became broken in this latest release. We'll see what the state of the game is come open beta.

Not trying to be apologetic of the game, and releasing something that's not 100% finished shouldn't be the norm, but it is. Time will tell if your company will change that standard.

It sucks they broke it for that weekend. I'm hoping with the 2 weeks they ahve here, they can fix that, and add anymore tweaks the the combat/gcd/animations.

Pathing crap was non existent in regular and CE beta. Mobs and pets worked fine.

The combat stuff is huge improvements over what it was 2 months ago.

So I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt for now, based on past performance and hope for the best.

Hell worst comes to worst, Its 50 bucks, which is nothing. Me personally i don't see it happening, and perceive this to fill my need for a PVP oriented game.

I'd go as far as saying WAR is currently doing better than many recent MMO releases. AoC players are still waiting for that PvP patch and that's a PvP-centric game with millions invested into development.

Even look at games like Hellgate: London with some star developers from Blizzard and how they launched. It's just not easy come crunch time to get products out as polished and complete as Blizzard does. It's easy to talk about, but how many devs have executed in the history of MMOs?

Yeah that perma-crouch loot bug at WoW release may have led to some hilarious youtube clips, but it was extremely irritating trying to play like that.

Interesting. I'm not sure what you're refering to, though I doubt that you'd expand on your opinion.
