| The Tome of Knowledge rocks. I thought that LOTRO was good about having titles and achievements, but this things blows LOTRO away. My favorite are all of the goofy titles you get for dying to other classes in RvR. "The Singed," "The Sacrificed" and shit like that. Pretty damn funny and I actually say "Oh, a new one" when I get murdered by a new class. ![]() |

| The White Lion looks pretty awesome (the pet, not the elf) it is a shame I don't hear many good things about them. Never been much of a pet class player anyway but a huge white lion pet would be kinda neat. |

| REPOST From Beta thread: Now that the NDA is off I wanted to quickly post about my play experience. Ive played a Engineer to mid teens and so far I've really enjoyed it. A typical PVE combat usually goes like this: I start by dropping a turret, opening with a 2 second cast rifle shot then hitting hip shot and Incendiary shot. Then when the target gets closer toss in a corrosive grenade, and hit with my spanner attack for a movement speed slow which lets me get some range if I have to. Against normal mobs I usually don't have to use anything else. If im fighting a champion I then would use Barbed wire for a 5 sec AOE root and my knockdown morale when its up. That and the turret fire lets me usually take champs of around my level. In PVP I usually enjoy taking a more defensive role because my turret still takes 3 seconds to setup (although there is a skill down the tinkering path that would eliminate this). I also tend to use barbed wire alot in PvP because melee characters demolish me if they get close. In a group scenario however you get a -50% damage reduction skill on a 15 sec CD that helps if you can have someone else doing some damage to melee character. Pretty much everything else is the same as PvE, corrosive acid grenade is great since its an AOE debuff. The Altar of Kain scenario is tons of fun for a engy because when both points are taken by one side a huge explosion engulfs them and with proper use of barbed wire you can root a ton of players for a nice mass instagib. =) My general thoughts on the UI are mixed. It seems to not completely align with your actions and sometimes you can get stuck in a casting mode where it keeps telling you that your interrupting your actions. Other then that its functional but could use a bit more work to make it more user friendly. The tome of lore is great if you love history and lore, its *THE* single best lore item in any MMO ive ever played. If you want lots of lore and story this game freaking has it via the tome. I played a bit with crafting too. Ive enjoyed alchemy alot so far, you can somewhat customize your potions. You can make it so you can make more of them with the same amounts of ingredients or make the effects longer, there are probably more options as you level higher. Cultivating on the other I didn't care for. Its basically works on a timer. You plant your seed, then put in a soil. Then you have a countdown timer which varys depending on your ingredients. Once the time counts down it moved to the watering stage, when you then have so many minutes to water, then it moves to the fertilizer stage which you again have so many minutes to fertilize. If you miss a stage you cannot go back and it will affect the final outcome. I didn't like it because half the time your doing this while your questing or pvping and its kind of an annoyance to always be opening up the cultivation tab and your backpack to water your plants while someones beating your head in. Thats my quick general impressions on the game. -Hark |

+8 Internets | A lot of the shots are pretty impressive. Looks like WoW 1.5 graphics. That Chosen with Runesword is one of the best looking gear sets in any MMO. Gonna be hard to pick a class since they all sound good. Leaning toward Engineer since they are so fun in Team Fortress. Are they anything alike? ![]() |
