| I'm in the Beta as a CE tester. The animations are wonky/bad at times, especially some of the Shadow Warrior/Squig Herder animations. Some of the low rez graphics border on terrible (Any of the Elves. The long hair graphic which is hideously bad.) Sometimes clicking on your abilities doesn't immediately fire them off and you have to wait a second or two before they go. The autoattack ability seems way, way too slow compared to being able spam abilities and since all abilities don't take in to affect weapon DPS at all (using set damage,) upgrading weapons is only really needed for the increase in stats. It's a bit...strange to me. That being said, the game is very, very fun. The PvP in this game is so much fun I could never see going back to WoW and the battlegrounds. Having a game that is built on PvP from the ground up makes a huge difference in the gameplay. Huge. The Public Quests and Scenarios are fun as shit. The amount of character customization from a "talent" standpoint is almost staggering from what I've seen. Between the Path Masteries, Morale abilities and tactics, you can tailor a character to suit your playing style pretty easily. Oh and Witch Hunters maybe the funniest class I've ever played in an MMO. All in all, as long as they get the high rez client in, I'll be happy. Even if they don't I'll still be mostly happy, but the graphics really are the biggest hurdle for me right now. Some of them are seriously bad. |

You build up 5 Interrogations and then you have "Execution" moves like the Rogue in WoW. Only the Executions are done with your pistol and it just "feels" damn good to shoot someone for a kill shot. One of the major differences I've seen is that your Interrogations aren't per target; you can build up 5 Ints. on one target, turn and unleash the 5 Int. Execution on another. I believe this is different then the WoW Rogue and is better imo. You get buffs that do different things when you Execute someone. One slows them for a few seconds, one heals you for half the damage, etc. Gives you some flexibility based on what you are facing, which is good. In PvP, it's really hard to get in due to the zerg vs. zerg but once you do, you shred ranged DPS and caster healers. When I get in on a Zealot, I pummel the shit out of him and he's usually dead if he's more then a 2-3 second run from help. This is really, really fun. The reverse side is that if I'm caught running in by ranged DPS or if a tank is around, then can hold me back when I get owned. There is a definite strategy to playing a Witch Hunter that I really like. Stealth is kinda meh. You get an ability that halves the damage you take for 15 seconds...I used this much more. It's honestly better to bide your time and wait for an opening and then rush the healers. If I can take out 1-2 caster/healer types before the zerg drops me, I feel like I've done my job. Hope that helps. ![]() | |

| Win for the epic, high fantasy feel. Seriously considering playing. Anyone have a firm date for OB to begin, and is the Amazon.com code sent via e-mail? Also, if we change our minds on the purchase, can we actually cancel before shipping?

| Sounds pretty much identical to the role I played on my Infiltrator in DAOC. And that works just fine for me.

+2 Internets | Photobucket is the one doing all the resizing. Some of the pictures are enhanced with bloom effects. There is no bloom effect available to the beta testers right now. In fact, we don't have a graphics slider at all. EDIT: Pictures removed due to exceeded bandwidth Last edited by 3xodus : 08-21-2008 at 10:03 PM. |
