Personally, I think they should replace Engineers with Space Marines.

That'd fix the population problems for Order!

Because they're already ingame, models and animations and armors? Or do you mean, why did they choose the class at first? Might be due to the iconic style(feathers, colors, etc), and I guess the Sigmar guys would probably be redundant with the Warrior Priest class.

There's a lot of stuff that's questionable in their choices anyway. The whole idea of Destruction vs Order is questionnable too. There's plenty of good choices for cool classes, even in not very well known units, but they went with these.

Still, if you remove the feather helm, they're very cool looking tanks. Arguably, even with the helm they are cool. Blackguard will still probably rape them in terms of popularity, due to being "evil" looking, and having ironbreaker overpowered mechanics, but well, better than nothing.

My stomach sank when I found out Mythic got the Warhammer fantasy license, and my concerns are proving largely to be right on the money, unfortunately. When/if a 40k mmo finally comes out, (and oh god I hope one does) I hope to high hell that it's developed by someone else.

There's one being made, but I wouldn't bet anything on it. The franchise is awesome, but there's pretty much been 0 good mmo involving space(but Eve, but it uses a totally different kind of perspective). I'd rather play a 40k mmofps, or even a 32/64players fps(the BF kind with vehicles and shit) than a mmorpg, mostly due to how rpg involves gaying long range mechanics with autoaiming and rolls.

And wouldnt that be crazy? Imma heading to WoW where I hear there is no farm status or repetition. It's a new game every day of the week with gumdrop rainbows and chocolate streams.

You missed my point entirely.

Lets get past the typical knee jerk WoW responses, the land of MMO's has been changed forever and WoW being the primary reason with the draw of new players from all different game genres. Whether you feel it is a good thing or otherwise, the bottom line is that any MMO that is released now has to be in a lot better shape than in years past if it does not want to be a niche MMO.

If a game is enthusiastically hyped for an extended time and then fails to deliver at launch for whatever reason you can't expect the player base to put up with it like days of old, there are simply too many other places for a player to go and get their gaming fix.

The MMO gaming community desperately needs more successful MMO's, competition is a good thing and often leads to new and exciting inovations so shit doesnt stagnate.

Apologies for the somewhat thread derail, carry on.

Game has it's issue but #1 right now has to be the pull effects. You can't defend your back line when a marauder can just pull your healers one by one behind their front lines to be gangbanged. Doing SP with 2 healers is completely pointless because they die before you can even start the fight.

Pull effects are a step up in the tactics department, for MMOs. I don't think we should fault them for putting something in like this. Instead, maybe they should look at allowing pulls to be used on your friends as well as enemies...

Definitely. I also think heavy tanks should have an ally knockback so they can eject strikers like Witch Elves out of combat after they blow their load on someone. Things like this would go a long way to making strategies more dimensional.

the marauder pull is 65yd range and a 2 second cast, if your healers are getting raped by it they are pretty retarded since they have 150 yd range, giving them a huge huge cushion... the WL pull is a little harder to defend against but even it isnt a death sentence cause the tank can taunt the pet. These abilities add cool level of strategy to the game imo... in a game like wow where getting pulled into the lines isnt a complete death sentence like it is in WAR they would be really alot of fun.

Magus/engi pull is still stupid and an i-win button.

Its to bad the game doesnt have an arena system cause its group combat dynamics are alot better than wows imo... or atleast it will be when dmg is scaled back a little or healing is scaled up.

Anyone here buy a CE so I can try out a trial? Watched friends play this weekend and being able to queue up sieges and it returning you to where you're leveling entices me. I'd also trade EQ shit for a new acct key or something I guess

I think it has something to do with the Knights of the Blazing Sun being more suited to adventuring (you would see them throughout the empire singly alot more than any of the other orders) and the other orders being too militant (meaning they would always be in military groupings as opposed to walking around by themselves).

Or it may be someone from GW and/or Mythic decided the feathered looks were the best things to put in the game.

I am guessing GW had a lot of say in things since I couldn't see any game developer passing up the opportunity to put dwarf slayers into their game...

I play on a server that was second only to Dark Crag in population. The quality of the gameplay has been suffering lately on this "high" population server.

Its now apparent to me, that there WILL need to be server mergers very soon if they want people to stay happy. WAR was designed for maximum population for a good gameplay experience.

Im on a high server right now and its a ghost town. Time for Mark Jacobs to swallow his ego and merge servers. Enough is enough with the spin. We see it in game every day. Its time to optimize the gameplay on all servers.

Begin the mergers now would be a good idea. Why let people leave for WOTLK with a bad taste? I believe waiting till WOTLK to merge will be the ultimate death of WAR as a competitive MMO.

Mark put himself in this position by launching with way too many servers. Now the game has to take a hit and do a merge. It will give WAR a negative image, but it must be done if they want to retain subscriptions.

The problem is that a good 50-60% of the population is running scenarios. So orvr and pqs are ghost towns. If your high/high server had no scenarios going it'd be crowded.
