+8 Internets | Far be it for me to step in the middle of a flamefest, but I've been really impressed by what players have done with guildhalls. We set up a good framework for folks, but what really makes them truly great is the effort people have gone to in decoration. Speaking of that, for those that do play, there should be a nice little surprise going in for the next major update with regard to guildhalls. =) -N |

| Game is fun. It's like a mix of the vanguard playerbase(which is excellent) with a game that isn't mired in hopelessness. It's legitimately fun to take a group and hang out for a few hours, doing different dungeons or getting epic updates. No l33tspeak, no nerdrage, just a good time. I'm not going to say it will hold my interest forever or says it is the best thing since the fleshlight, but it's certainly a much better game than it was when I first left it. One more thing. The guild halls in this game are amazing. We just joined a moderately sized guild: mid 50s guild level, 2-3 groups on a night, raids in an alliance. Anyway, I had no idea just how great the guild hall system was. First of all they don't all look the same; lots of cool variations, and you can tell someone spent a lot of time decorating. Secondly you have a mender, merchant, crafting hall, feedable burynai, broker, bank, and teleporters to basically anywhere you could possibly want to go within 10 minutes. And it is a legitimate meeting place. There's always four or five people in there, and visitors every so often. It feels like an actual hub rather than a private instance like your house or whatever. Just a very well implemented feature that no other game has done quite as well, as far as I know. The best thing about EQ2 is that there is a real and recognizable community, the closest thing to pre-kunark EQ I can remember(Everyone on AB probably recognizes the name Putrid). G

+39 Internets | So, being as bored as most raiders with wow, I was thinking of giving this game another try for a bit. Posting here since I take it that's the main EQ2 thread now(at least it looks like the only one on first page). Say I was a new player, is the trial any good? It says it has a fuckload of expansion packs, which doesn't mean much since I have no idea what the fuck are those expansion packs. I read in the few previous posts that 1-20 is actually good, that's in the trial or does it stop earlier than that? And the usual, anyone with a server recommendation, possibly even a newb guild reccomendation? |

+46 Internets | Trial last 14 days and you can get to lvl 20, but you can actually get EXP for for lvls 21 and 22 and such saving. So when you actually subscribe you keep that character and turn lvl 22 automatically.

| If somebody was looking to get back into the game, and had a hard on for the melee priests, which would be the best to play now a days? I've gotten warden/mystic to the mid 20's before, never higher. I have always liked the Inquisitor Pope-hat, but its frightens me that they seem to fucking blow at healing. I enjoy trophy solos and playing healer in groups, but love the ability to weave CAs/debuffs/etc in between heals (cause, atleast in my limited experience, if you're chain healing, you're fighting shit too hard) |

+8 Internets | The trial downloads the whole game up to Kunark (last year's expansion). The only retail box we have has everything, including all adventure packs and expansions. Pretty cheap compared to starting with other retail products. You can also get EQII through Steam now too. I'd highly recommend starting in Neriak, Greater Fay or Gorowyn. |

+39 Internets | So, is there any way to not play on EU servers? Seems I can only download the EU trial? And still looking for a server recommendation, like the most populated I guess(or one of them). I'd be pushy if I asked for a short introduction to every class mechanics/roles but if someone has that too, guess I'll take. |

+32 Internets | About to load this up again. I've been gone since 2 months after the Kunark expansion. Sounds like AB is still going strong. Have an army of characters in the 30's and a dirge in the high 40's. The dirge still sought after in groups as they were in earlier times? |

In the first window you see after starting EQ2(The Terms of agreement etc) you can select the region you want to play in. English(US) English(EU) etc. Character Creation - EQ2i scroll down on this page to find what each class primary role is. | |
