+8 Internets | If only there was a way to harness energy and/or useful work out of MMOG players. People that do repetitive tasks in front of a screen for 18 hours in a single sitting - and they pay you for the privilege. There's got to be a way ... ![]() |

| I can see in a months timeframe, that unless something is changed, Square's going to be sitting around going "Geee.....why aren't the players going after this boss? Why? Why?" Oh, I'm sure there will be 1-2 Linkshells to do it, then NO ONE ELSE will ever do it. Jeez and I remember how much the old God/Avatar fights in EQ1 sucked. (at least from a clerics perspective). |

Oddly enough our linkshell on leviathan is prolly the most hardcore out of NA, yet we have like the most people with real lives (hello friday night, noones online!) I could see the PW fight getting to like 10 hrs if you have 4 alliances (72 people) so everyone can kill the adds fast while 1 alliance works on PW, but considering linkshells are capped at 64 people, that makes it a little hard. Sadly i really hope they do tweak it, as some really nice earring was added in this patch for healers that hasnt been found yet and has to be from PW :/ me wants ; ;

| Is there any way to retrieve your Playonline ID if you've lost it? I can't for the life of me find a way to do it...

So while we did enjoy the "haha we're fucking leet" aspect of Sky, deep down we all wanted good items. The other issue with PoS is that it was made so that it could only be completed in Kunark, yet the Kunark loot pretty much blew away %99 of the items in Sky.

| I just can't think of the reasoning behind having an encounter lasting 12+ hours. Especially seeing the other encounters in this game can be done in an hour or less. Let me put it this way, would you want to even attempt a mob, knowing that under perfect cnditions and strategies, it will take you anywhere from 12 to 18 hours to kill it ? The mob's were talking about are supposed to be the Ragnaros and illidans of ffxi, yet instead of being more difficult and perhaps abit longer seeing it is the last boss of a particular area, both are turned into a race of exhaustion. AV , the end boss of a 2-3? year old expansion is still in that situation.

| Has anyone even managed to decently emulate a FFXI Online Server? I remember hearing about a group of people working on it a few years ago but never heard if anything came of it. |

| Does anyone have a link to the copy of the minutes of this 'Summit' where the developers claimed the AV encounter was 'built' to be up to 18 hours long? I just find it seriously hard to believe that a group of developers said this, and didn't have their faces met by dropkicks by each non-developer at the Summit. No fucking way. Not even the most dedicated FFXI fan would have taken that sitting down. |

Then again, that wasn't incredibly difficult to do... it was just long. | |

| This will take time to get down to a managable kill. I remember my first Kirin kill back when the hardcore NA people were just hitting 70 and we had 2 alliances in the Kirin room where we would cycle people out for mana regen, and the fight STILL took us 5 hours to finish that first time. I will admit that it was a fucking epic encounter, but the way people could hold aggro when being switched out of alliances would sometimes be a bad thing. Oh, and telling people unmap their motherfucking help button! It was pretty fucking awesome to be in one of the world first all NA Kirin kills though. Just like I can imagine the people who down this boss the first time will feel pretty damn proud after they wash their poopleg out. |
