When the GM speaks to you act like you're a total dumbshit and try and get that axe/sword reimbursed to your character. Make up a story, anything. Could range from the quest not updating because the sword isn't in your inventory, or say it is a reward for completion.

If he/she does not reimburse you act like you totally don't understand why and state this in tells. Wait a day or two if this doesn't work and petition again so you get a different GM. If he/she tries to call you out on it (worst case scenario) act like you have no idea how the quest works, use ignorance to your advantage. Make them explain to you how it works and after they try and explain it keep saying you don't understand. Hell, tell them english isn't your first language and cut out some words.

Most of the GM/Guides don't know jack and/or shit about everything in the game.

The restore trick is even used by people to get rid of augments & ornamentations, they just destroy the improved item and get a clean one back.

Nearly standard practice for some heh.

Could work on xp potions with less then full charges to ! Be creative in your accidental destructions

A while back I was sick of my lvl 70 epic monk and wanted to remake and you can only have 1 character on FV. So i stripped him and gave all his gear that was usable for a BL to a new char I made and sold off the rest in teh bazaar for cash to buy more twink gear for my new BL.

After about 20 levels I ended up quitting and didnt play for a few months. When i returned I wanted the monk back so I petitioned.

They restored my monk not only fully geared but added him as a second chacter on my FV account giving me 2 playable characters and effectively duping all my gear.

They must have outsourced their GM's to India or something. It's the only way they could be this stupid.

I remember back in the day a warrior in my guild petitioned a GM saying he deleted his Bloodfrenzy. Of course he/she believed him and gave him one. When the lead GM found out she wasn't too happy but said there was nothing she could do. Everybody on the server knew he didn't get it because at the time it was the best warrior weapon in the game.

They actually did just this, 06-07 iirc.

You guys were some great competition, which made Velious / Luclin fairly lively. I had a load of respect for you guys. I came originally from Brell with Lanos and old Europa Tribes. I think I was the only one in Darkwind in the end, when everyone else formed Mortalis.

I remember the VT race with Mort down one hallway and DW down the other. First to AHR wins rights. We won... always a nice feeling. You guys did hand us our ass in keeping Emp perma killed for a while though. After Kheops left, it seemed you guys lost steam. You guys moved to KB on opening and Darkwind pretty much went through PoP uncontested. In the end we were 3rd worldwide into PoTime (behind Township Rebellion and Afterlife), so it was our best accomplishment.

Ah.. good memories.

As the puller for that first Mortalis kill i can correct you in that we did not have way more raiders than normal although it was a very tough fight (we wiped at 0% the previous week and had been working on him a while).

That kill had (and still does to me) special significance as it was the first -single guild kill of AoW-, the actual first kill was of course by 2 allied guilds, whose name i sadly forget. I still remember the insane guildchat when he dropped and Drembo appearing next to the body and doing a nice serverwide congrats to us.

We also had a good few deaths but it wasnt a zerg and the tanks did a great job.

Mort/DW rivalry was epic back then, fun times indeed.

We would have never gotten the first AoW kill otherwise because we had a policy to not swell our ranks like everyone else was doing. What we accomplished with our numbers was a point of pride among the guild.

Also, bonus points to anyone who knows the only 3 guilds to complete every expansion before the next one came out(up to PoP when everyone worth a shit quit for WoW).

You people who quit EQ for WoW just can't end a post without saying something like this, can you? Why are the people who stuck around not worth a shit? Do you think that just because you were in one of the more powerful positions 6 years ago that none of the top guilds now days are similarly skilled? Do you really think that only those who played the end-game 6 years ago were capable of becoming good at Everquest?
