+1 Internets | Yeah, the comic was drawn by Venven who later joined us. I think we had 70 people for the first kill. We quickly pared down numbers required for any encounter, because of the insane races. We had emp down to 30 people while some people *cough* were petitioning for a /random with 100 other friends. We were 3rd or 4th I think. Woulda been first on pre-nerf cursed... but they nerfed him. The race was really the fun part though. Kheops quitting was like the crash at the end of a year long bender. That guy was just a damned good leader, who went out in a blaze of glory. Hmm, he WAS German... |

| Not really an exploit, but I just recalled. Fall damage was based on framerate. if you had high framerate (by going fullscreen and staring at a wall, for example) you could survive a fall of any distance. You could jump into the hole with a /testbuffed negro cleric with 122/60 encumbered and 0 safe fall and hit the ground for between 0-12 damage. Grav flux raped on raids because of the framerate hit. |

| most likely ak'anon alliance. ikikgud, rektar, zuez, that whole crew. came back to form defenders of ak'anon. remember furor was all up in arms on this forum when ikikgud came here and bragged about killing vulak(without killing... what was the dragon before him?). that clique of people were into some crazy duping/sploiting. i remember they had an erudite shadow knight with full indicolite(10pts to whoever knows why this is impossible legitly). oh sup keating :] i played armas later on during PoP. the amount of exploiting i did through that game once i met up with armastevs was hilarious. oh and schatze remember shining force days? :P

Thing I never figured out was why Raging Fury bothered because they still didnt raid VT for ~3 months after we gained access.

+1 Internets | I made an anonymous character on Fennin, and fed a number of strats to TMO, probably most importantly how aggro lists truly work, and exactly how rampage post luclin worked. I know Zevano did it (former TMO cleric), but I don't know what he did say. A bunch of clerics from Fennin ended up in Mortalis, and all of them from the same "side" in the Fennin cess pit. Only Zevano was former TMO. All the rest of us just hated ak'anon. I'm pretty sure similar things played out on many servers. I never passed on anything cutting edge or "disloyal", but enough to help them out in the hope of vicariously curb stomping Ak anon. edit: Mortalis wasn't pure Euro. And there were small groups of people scattered across different time zones. Why we ended up paring our numbers down as the race got more brutal, because those were the people available at the time. Some people were just always on, and there were always people on call, but not enough. We just did it anyways. Downing emp with 30 in the era we were doing it was really something. We had a mod rod fiend mage who'd arrange and refresh stacks of hundreds. Doing stuff like HP or arch lich legit with under 20 people, when they were still "hard". The players were just amazing. Worst, but most impressive, was the day the servers were hiccupping for 10 seconds constantly. We still downed Seru. Hour and 40 fucking minute CH chain, no tank loss. Kasey mighta been there. Or the day our wizard group absconded by accident during emp. Although, honestly, I was a teenager at the time. edit: oh FUCK now I realize what the hell happened with Age of Conan. They were all off raiding. Last edited by Schatze : 08-16-2008 at 08:25 PM. |

| Frozen Jebus needed a charisma buff? You could charm Jeebus for the Orb of Void without charisma buff. At least i did. |

| Schatze, the incident with Drembo appearing as Bristlebane was during one of the emp races, we were there in force and yet he made us roll for the spawn as 10 or so DWaRF was present there. After losing roll Kheops moved the raid to Rivervale to avenge that all to the innocent halflings, which ended up badly when an AoW sized Bristlebane appeared and killed us all in a few AOE's. +1 Internets | Yeah, the bullshit rolls were infuriating as fuck. Between that, and bugged ass VT back when everything ae blinded/stunned/warped broke kheops I think. I know the whole event with Bristlebane was on our page, but the details of why it occurred evaded me. |

+16 Internets | Speaking of GM stories, Cazic Thule had a few. Ka'Tavir was the first. Nagafen hadn't died yet back in June of 99, so about 3-4 guilds were gonna do a big alliance. Well, shit fell apart and the guilds except mine were all "Screw you guys, I'm going home!". So we go "Fuck ya'll....our guild will SOLO the dragon!". So all of a sudden the guilds who were leaving start QQ'ing. So the GM appears and basically goes ballistic on everyone. He was like "MY SERVER WILL NOT BE THE LAST KILL NAGAFEN, GTF BACK IN THERE!!!". So we did the zerg waves of death, Nagafen dies, and the zone crashes. The GM repoped the zone, solo'd the dragon, then handed out one piece of loot to every guild who made the attempt. Believe it or not, our guild was the only one able to solo Nagafen/Vox for a very long time. It wasn't until Coterie Nocturne formed that another guild was able to solo them. I remember one night after Plane of Sky my guild + CN were like "Wanna kill Nagafen?" "But we don't have any healers or casters!" "So?". We killed Nagafen with pure melee, which was a pretty big deal back then ;p Then there was this ass GM...Valeros or Valeron or whatever. High elf paladin. Behemoth finally collects all the items for the warrior quest ring in Plane of Sky, he goes to hand it in, *munch munch*. So we petition the GM and he's basically "sorry, no refunds". The issue was the quest had typos so it was asking for the wrong items. What a prick ;p

+8 Internets | I remember a GM, just after they made the horrid switch to the roamers from resident GM's, tell us that since we were second guild on the server and got lots of kills anyway, why couldn't we just let the little fellas who came after us and were contesting have this spawn? Wtf? That guy was the first time I was introduced to rolling as a way to decide which guild won the spawn as well, which I thought was the most inane shit I had ever heard. |
