If I remember correctly, Pyzjin (pretty damn rare spawn at or pathing to ruins) would drop the Glowing Black Stone as a rare drop. If you cast identify on that item it would read as "Varsoon's Black Heart".

Never figured out the connection with Varsoon and Pyzjin.

theres a raid in the newest expansion called the fall of toskirakk which is basicly the point in EQ history where rallos zek captured one of the rathe council members and brought it back to be executed in the ogre capital. In the raid you are supposed to kill these four 12k flurrying mobs at once and balance their HP within 3% of eachother or something. when they are dead theres a sealed door behind them that opens and inside are 6 discordant ritualists plus rallos zek all huddled around the rathe councilmember. kill the 6 ritualists and the raid is won.

now here's the exploit: using eye of zomm you could open the sealed door without having to kill the 4 boss mobs. then you can either sneak past or have someone train them away while you enter the room with the ritualists. you can then kill the 6 ritualists who do NOT attack you or pose any sort of threat whatsoever and win the raid. this basicly makes the entire raid instance soloable. each win is 2 armour pieces plus 2 loots

even sweeter, with raids in SOD only the lock out timer of the person requesting the mission is what matters. So once you win the mission as long as the person who requested the mission did not partcipate they can request it again and you can farm this instance over and over as much as you'd like.

this was nerfed so don't bother trying it out now. It was bugged like this for over 5 months.

I got another one to share so listen to this:

Another SOD raid, Rallos Returns. In this raid you are supposed to protect the rathe council (yes those same dudes from the poearth raid in pop) from rallos zeks forces.


In this raid the councilmen are split in 2 groups, at the start of the raid a huge group of ogres spawns and fights their way to the councilmen. 3 minutes into the raid tallon and vallon zek spawn and beeline for the first group of rathe members. Whats supposed to happen is if any one of the council dies the event fails and resets, but if you get the first group of 6 completely wiped out (train them on the ogres asap) before tallon/vallon spawn then the event bugs and does not reset.

from this point you set up in a room with the 2nd group of rathe council members. get yourself a bard/puller, a beefy tank (raid gear required here) and a couple clerics.

single pull tallon and vallon one at a time to the 2nd group of rathe dudes. they will attack and since they hit for 4k and theres 7 of them they will do all the DPS you need to win the raid. you just need to keep a tank alive long enough.

when the zek bros are dead rallos himself pops. once again pull him into the room, tank him (hes a 13k hitter) while the rathe members beat his ass down. It takes about 3 or 4 minutes for them to do enough dps to kill rallos, so you just need to keep your tank alive long enough.


rallos dies, you get 2 armour pieces, 2 rank 3 spell runes, and two drops from this list.



IT GETS BETTER! last patch introduced "hard mode" raids. so you can win the hard version of this raid in the exact same fashion for even more loots (the hard loots are in the 1k hp/mana range)


also, the lock out timer can be exploited since as long as the requestor of the raid has no lock out you can chain spawn this raid over and over and over. both hard and normal.


now you probably see why this is getting nerfed today from an emergency patch.

this has been exploitable since SOD launched, it just got insanely popular after hard mode came out now the nerf bat is being swung.

I'm late to this party but...

Bard AE kiting with macroquest in Nadox was my full time job for almost a year. I paid the mortgage, utilities and bought a car with the proceeds.

Get a client into the zone, put him in a safe place against a wall and pull half of the lower part of the zone. Activate MQ and run around in a circle while singing AE dots. They die in approx 7 mins then go pull the other half and do it again. Rinse and repeat for hour after fucking mind numbing hour.

At one point I had bards on 3? different servers that did nothing but run around in circles.

When it finally got nerfed I sold my characters shortly thereafter.

I did that in Plane of Valor and HoH for about 12 months during PoP, until they nerfed ae dot range. I scripted the zone wide pull though. Manually doing that shit was a no-no.

I didn't make any money from it however..

Wasn't Flechette the one that disbanded our guild in PoHate after we killed some people up there?

I did this as well, only manually... It was fuckin amazing AA exp at the time; somewhere in the range of 2-3 AAs per pull. If only there were the xp potions and xp bonus weekends back then.... I'll tell you though, it was mind-numbingly boring after a while. So boring that in fact after about a month of doing it I kind of backed off, only to see it nerfed about a month later. I was kind of kicking myself for not pushing myself to do more. That was also a killer blow to my interest, even if I didn't quit until about a year later.

I played a druid, i explored nadox right when they released this expansion.
I found a special named boar that was charmable with the level 63 pop charm.
I used to snare it , animal tash it and equip it with a haste sword and slow stick.
This thing hit like a pop mob and it quadded.
It would drop mobs in seconds so i could kill about 15-23 in the same 7 minute time span as you , only i could drag it all over the zone.
Nice thing was the named mobs popped constantly in this zone when it was new.
For 3 months i was raking in AA's and tons of plat keeping the whole zone on lock down. I'm pretty sure i was definately one of the first people to exploit the broodmother in the same zone.
