There were 3 that I can remember.

One was if you ran your horse into the pool in front of the PoK library, it'd launch you up onto the roof.

A less useless one was in dungeons from original to Luclin, as a wizard, you could cast eye of zomm into a wall and it'd teleport it to random locations inside the dungeon. Useful for checking boss spawns, even if it did sometimes take an hour or 2 to get a good enough eye spawn to find a boss's room.

Last one was from my early days in Crushbone, that if you stood on ground higher elevated than what you were casting at, bolt spells could split, go two different directions and hit the target twice. Didn't help much past like lvl 20 though, since they basically discontinued bolt spells.

That did wonders for NToV. There was a boss room everywhere it landed.

We (Pravus Dei on Veeshan) discovered that Melalafen was spawning every sixty minutes like clockwork. We farmed him/her for a week for Essence items and CoFs. The price of the latter dropped drastically because we flooded the server with them.

One day a GM showed up to ask what we were doing, to which we replied, "Killing dragons." She watched us for awhile and then ported out, but not before saying " Melalafen has been permakilled."

Also, a great dick move was giving the begging newbs in NFP 1000+cp thus encumbering them and rendering them unable to move. They would have a plat or two but couldn't move to do anything about it.

There were tons of corners that you could do this in to get over stuff. It provided a nice shortcut in a lot of zones. I remember doing it to skip tons of content and get to farm camps easier.

Yeah I mentioned that one above. It worked wonders for me as a Mage since they always got bolts as their highest damage spells, even up to 70.

Camping in the corner in sirens grotto for a free TL across the zone.
hah that was a good one yeah

Well, the only real bug i used many times, was the server crash bug :

- you log 2 char
- one with no gear
- one with a Fungy tunic
- give the tunic to the other char, camp it, relog.. the char is saved with the tunic.

now hope for a server crash ( do it prime time right after a patch when ubber guilds are raiding.. server were crashing often )

after the crash... you had 2 tunics (one on each char) ^^

managed to do it like 7 or 8 times )

I heard a rumor a long time back that a dev added a free exp thing for his friends or something. Where you would give 4 milks to a troll guard in grobb and get massive exp for it and could level to 50 off of it.

Realm of Insanity use to warp exploit all the time back in the day on Stromm.

The only exploit I used was the one in Paludal Caverns where you could pull a fuckton of those fungal fuckers and AE them down all at once.

There was a bug during the GoD era that lasted about two days with bard songs. Forgot the specifics (had something to do with switching out instruments) because it's been awhile but basically if the bard had the spell scroll/skill book in his inventory he could cast any spell in the game instantly. Rez, cheal, feign death, etc you name it. Some spells crashed the zone, so you could instantly repop any boss that wasn't instanced.

One I thought was funny was that early on the Enchanter spell "minor illusion" had no size limitation to it. If you positioned yourself just right, you could cast it and turn into something huge. I remember people doing it just outside of the entrance to Felwithe and being able to turn into a wall, then you could rotate yourself and block the entrance.

Another exploit with minor illusion was that there was some way of making it so you could unroot yourself (can't recall what it was, but I know it was something fairly simple). At the time, minor illusion made you neutral to every mob in the game. This allowed Enchanters to scout any zone in the game untouched. (They later changed it so minor illusion had no impact on your factions.)

One of my favorites was the rumor that griffons in the Commonlands wouldn't aggro on Gnomes or Halflings because they were too short for the griffons to see. That rumor didn't last long, but it was hilarious to see people thinking they could just run under a griffon.

I remember there being a similar rumor about ToFS. There were some drops people didn't know what they were for, so it was rumored that there was an 8th floor. People commonly theorized that that's where the devs moved Mayong Mistmoore.

Oh yeah, I remember several rumors about that one. Before Hate was released, the rumor was that that was where the portal was going to go, and then for quite a while it was accepted that that was a way in. Even after people went up there and found nothing, it was still thought that there must be a secret way to unlock it since PoH had no discovered zone-in. Later, and prior to PoP, the rumor was that it'd be where the entrance to Marr's Plane would be.

Favorite dick head exploit? - going to freeport or something with a newbie area and giving rats the -35 hp tunic. At some point they patched in this newbie friendly thing where even as a newbie you respawned with your gear. So newbie puts on -35 hp tunic he got off a rat, and dies instantly, then respawns automatically with the gear on and gets stuck in a death loop.
Even better than that? Going to an area where a lot of newbies were gathered and casting the AoE mod rod spell and then watching all the newbies discover what "Mystical Transvergence" did. (I never played a Magician, so I didn't do it myself, but I saw it done all the time.)

That one happened in Oasis as well. I remember someone getting brave and deciding to go see why there were a ton of dogs in the water, then running to the zone when they aggroed. If you'll recall, most people in that zone were in their teens and the goblins in the water were much higher. I wish I still had the screenshots of literally dozens of goblin pet wolves just swarming the lowbies in the zone.

Heh, that one benefited us tradeskillers quite well. Back then blue diamonds were quite to come by, and also quite valuable due to them being used in certain recipes. During that time people could sell blue diamonds to the vender but end up with him not taking it from their inventory. So, one person could sell the same blue diamond several times and the vender would stock a new one with each sale. I remember being ecstatic the day I came across a vender who had like 20 blue diamonds on him.

No, that was that if you zoned into West Freeport from the river in North Freeport (or maybe the other way around), it would warp you to the entrance to Qeynos Hills. People used to exploit that one to save themselves the trip across West Karana. That was fixed really early on. I think they just moved the safe point to the Wizard pyramid which wasn't that far from the WK-NK zoneline.

Before PoP came out Hero Bracers were worth 500-900 plat, they weren't that great I think they were just +9 str bracers. Normally the quest mob for these was an 8 hour spawn, but for some reason when I was at the camp the server crashed. When it came back up the Minotaur Hero started spawning every 5 mins. He dropped the quest item every time and it was decent xp.

No one else noticed except for me apparently so I partnered with a druid to repeat the quest x50-100?(Since the Mino Hero is in Akanon and the hand in was in Qeynos) I think I made about 20k+ from that which was a lot to my level 40 newb self. (They fixed the bug a few weeks later I think)

One I had heard of but never saw done (and I heard it from A LOT of people) was the Emporer Ssra bug. Have a wizard invis to him, and through some crazy way of doing gravity flux, get him to pop up to the entrance room with your guild waiting there.

I remember the Aerin'Dar wall bug where if you faced a certain wall, summoned your mount, and then wiggled it allowed you to slip through the wall and get in to his chamber without a key. You could also run under him but as he aggroed in all directions, even down, it didn't really serve much of a purpose.
