| You can enable old spell effects. We did it when Combine launched. I don't remember exactly how to do it but you should be able to either search here or google it.

+36 Internets | I was driving home and had another nostalgic memory. Somebody probably posted it earlier. Rain. Rain was a death sentence for some classes in some zones. Out of the fog comes RED_CON_OF_DEATH. Or people with bad direction sense? You're in the middle of a field, then.. rain... oh fuck, blind. People would literally stumble around lost. And sometimes your client didn't receive the 'rain off' packet and it rained for literally an hour or more. When the first high level druids got the rain-away spell, they were hailed as gods by people.

+71 Internets | Bladestorm was broken and didn't proc - unless you were charmed, at which point you would rape your entire party. The first time it happened to us in Guk was memorable. It was a sad day when charm was taken away from shaman and necromancers, it made the game much less entertaining. |

| pretty sure you have to modify your shortcut to bypass patching after doing this, which makes it kinda unsuitable for retail.

+3 Internets | Anyone remember this event? Can't remember what it was called, but it was a serverwide test Daegarmo did. I think the way it worked is, she'd message the guild leader, and the clock started. There were three bosses to kill in the arena, and it was all about how fast you could get there and take them down. Not sure if losses / deaths were part of it. I sat on the bench and watched, being a necro ![]() I remember us winning by a good margin, but it's hard to make something like that fair, might have caught some of the other guilds on an off night. Looks like it was july 6th at around 11pm central if my bmp date can be trusted. (2000) |

| Chuckles Great thread for reminiscing. Most of the good ones have been covered. There was some talk of the POM faction issues but no one has mentioned using Chuckles the Great. Maybe it was not well known. Drizzlorn Un figured it out long before he was made an NPC by Celrak. Chuckles hated skeleton illusions and would attack anyone using an AoN or liching. He also would attack (and rape) any mob you cast Ignite Bones on. We mainly used it to farm the puppets endlessly, but just about anything you could train to Chuckles he would rape. ![]() ![]() Mentioned way early in the thread was the savant pots: ![]() The ancient croc in Upper Guk had the same pathing issues (would not move to you on initial spawn if you were in the corner) and could easily be killed by a caster. Bind there, port over to commonlands and sell gatorscale legs or arms for a couple hundred plat as fast as possible. Gate back and repeat. Another thing not yet mentioned here was a trick SK's could use to "fd their pet off". Vedark used to do it all the time back in the day to summon pet armies similar to the eye of zomm mage trick mentioned earlier: ![]() Mayong in Castle Mistmoore was a real GM event, though some do not believe he was ever there to this day. I wish I still had shots of the actual NPC. And Heebee's shots from the Valon / GM summoning to VP incident mentioned way back in the first few pages: ![]() ![]() Thanks for the memories. | Saw some posts a few pages back regarding Sobe and Wendo. Sobe was 1st Dru epic game wide, and everyone knows Wendo from BoTB. Sobe later got a title as well, "the Wanderer". I'm not sure if that's from BoTB or a server event, seems Druid specific so probably BoTB. There was a guy on Sol Ro named Seras of the Wolves. That title was dope. |

| You should read your own posts, it was Vanta and Maww: thread I certainly have plenty of fun stories, probably enough to write a book. They would be better suited for berthall. Would be fun if that place was still around; Ralkora really screwed that up badly. Actually tried contacting Portice earlier in the year to see about restoring it from backups, but it seems there is no hope of getting back the domain. Hey Necrath >< |

I remember the poor team J bard Aika getting cazic touched like half a dozen times from across the zone over the course of the day haha. Also attaching a couple of early titles in that batch of screenshots, not sure what events they were from. | |
