Were all gnome heads that unusually large, or just females?

Vent is close enough to required for top-level play, in WoW. Its really only there for increasing efficiency. I'm sure that someone, somewhere, could get 25 people to do mim hard mode without vent, but everyone would have to have the fight perfectly memorized, previous assignments to heals/dps/cc/support groups, etc. etc.

Its not impossible. I'm sure you could train any 25 people to do most anything in WoW, but that doesn't make it "better."

Interacting more smoothly and fluidly with your raid is never a bad thing. Vent is a tool that allows that, but does not ensure that.

What idiot disagrees?

Was reading back through this thread... Love reading about Aakla and CiH. Drinal drama was great. CiH were such assholes back then. I fucking hated them. Wonder if they still are? I can remember getting screamed and cursed at by them for not letting their twink alts have my quad kite spots upon request.

That video made me realize something I'd forgotten about as a minor "ooh" and "ahh" from EQ to WoW - as you leveled your spell effects got grander. While your spells weren't called "Life Tap Rank 1-9" they were still essentially different ranks of the same spell, but Life Tap at level 1 has this small effect with a few flying particles whereas Life Tap at level 39+ (iirc) had this grandiose green particle explosion (and later a skull effect amirite? I can't remember if that was before or after the revamp of spell effects/kunark).

And then you reach the rank where you turn all the effects off.

Wish they had an option in the retail client to enable old spell effects and icons.

You seem to misunderstand my guild. It's the guild leader himself phone sexing girls and broadcasting it to vent during our raids. It's the mages and priests writing songs to each other and singing them over vent. It's glorious and we wouldn't have it any other way.

I played a ranger and we didn't get any good spell effects until lvl 35 - remember casting skin like rock over and over and over in the bedroom of LGuk because the effect was orange, green and finally blue was added...so 1337..

I also bought Ebony Longsword (ranger only sword with root effect) and Executioner hood off of ebay for like $75 bucks...I was just a mid 20's ranger in late 99 trying to level up in Cazic..

And speaking of Cazic - why did they destroy such an iconic zone - it was a staple for mid level grinding - great loots - awesome layout...courtyard - throne room - maze - temple - sewers..god damn that zone ruled. It was where I learned to use harmony to pull..

Sorry for stream of consciousness - but here's one more!

My buddy and I were leveling up our characters in Karana at the huge ramp. He was a wizard and I was a ranger..so we start to fight an evil eye and It is beating on him and he is down to about 100 HP - it then charms me. So, now its 2v1..he roots the evil eye and starts to run away - and then I, being charmed and acting like an NPC, start to rain down arrows on him and I end up killing him - we were LAN'ing at the time - one of the funniest moments I have ever had playing EQ..

Sounds like a nightmare. If we were farming naxx25 still then yeah, laugh it up phone sex boy, but when the the other tank is forgetting to tank on Gormok but able to play Borat "Veerrry naaaaaice!" soundclips with potent efficiency, it gets irritating.

It definitely sounds like a nightmare and I don't mean from a "need to hear direction" standpoint.
