+4 Internets | Blizzcon '08 When : October 10 - 11 Where : Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA Price : $100 On Sale starting : August 11 Known Goodies : Inflatable bubble with Paladin inside, Inflatable Frostmourne, Polar Bear mount w/Murloc, Diablo health and mana stress balls, pandaren brewmaster bottle openers, zerg creep. I'm planning on going to Blizzcon for the first time this year and have no idea what that area is like, what hotels to check for, etc. I figured a thread with general info would be nice for those of us going. My questions : - What's the closest airport? LAX? - Any recommendations for hotels? Something cheaper that also isn't a rat hole would be nice - What are the "Must-see's" in the area? - Similarly, what are the "Must-avoids?" - Is it worth it to rent a car or just catch taxis? Also, didn't several posters go in together last year to save money on rooms and what-not? If so, how did that go? |

Disneyland is across the street. Don't know avoids. Take a taxi -- SNA is close, and oodles of hotels are close to Disneyland. Basically if you look for hotels near disney you'll be within walking distance of the same place. | |

| I'm thinking of buing 3 tickets. I'm not sure if I am actually going to use 1 or 2 of them but I know I will wait till a week or so before blizcon and sell the third on ebay. If I got enough money from it maybe it would pay for a chunk of the trip. Anyone know if blizzard just mails you your tickets are or you required to show some kind of ID to verify your the one who bought the tickets?

| If you haven't been to Southern California before I'd recommend renting a car as there is a ton to do and see and LA is just way to spread out to take taxi's all over the place. That said if you're mainly there for Blizzcon you could still do well just staying around Anaheim, Disneyland/California Adventure are definitely worth a visit and are literally right next to each other. (and walking distance to the Convention center) If you have any desire to go to Hollywood though, you are in for a LONG trek. There are a ton of hotels in the area but if I were you I'd start trying to book now, the longer the wait, the more you will pay. |

| I live in Socal. If you cant afford to go to Disneyland then at least go to Downtown Disney. Its a cool shopping area before the entrance to Disneyland and California Adventure. Has theater, ESPN zone, and buncha shops and some nice places to eat. You can also walk around in the Grand California and Disneyland Hotel. Also Black at Orange mall isn't too far from Anaheim Conv Center and is a ncie outside mall with a theater and shops/restaurants. |

| Pride Never Die | Ahhh fuck you're right, it's on PPV. How lame is that shit. Blizzcon isn't that important to me that I'll pay for it. Fuck that noise. Live Coverage of BlizzCon (PPV) - DBSTalk.Com

| Just make sure you hit an In-N-Out or a Fatburger while you're there. Other than that, when I went in 2005... the most annoying thing was buying stuff from the store... the lines were long.. and not just long, like crazy 2 hours long. Not sure if they've improved the process, but if you plan on buying swag try to figure out the best time. |
