Multiboxing looks rather easy on a basic level anyway, the most annoying part seems the whole quest acepting shit(because of quests that can't be shared mostly). I've dual boxed my fury war and resto druid in arenas and 5mans such as black morass, it seems much harder than what I'm gonna do with 5chars. With 2 you actually have to play both, with 5 you just press consecrate/judge/holy shield macro on a protadin, heal on whatever healer, and nuke on all 3 other chars, and everything just dies 1by1 easily.

You dont have to pay for multiple computers, if you PM the guy on the Multi boxing forums, he will take care of that for you. There are Multi boxing addons, that will auto accept quests. So, what you can do is take a quest with your main, and share it to your alts, and it will auto accept. Of course there are sometimes you have to manually click and get the quests with the Alts, but that can not be helped.

Depends on your class make up, but its actually VERY easy to 5box 1 of a certain class (obvisously). Its hard to do multiple melee though. Your mileage may very.

Could the 4 characters use their "grant level" ability to power a brand new lvl 1 on account X to lvl 60?

yes, but you can only grant levels to the person that referred you. So if you invited all 4 (accounts B C D E) with account A, then you could instantly level anyone to lvl 60 on account A.

Account X has to be the referrer account(your original one), but yeah. You'd also have spare levels to do it on another char. You'd better level the char to like lvl 20-30ish before gifting him though, assuming triple xp, it would only take a day, and you save up a lot of gifted levels. I mean it takes like an hour for 1-10 and that's 9lvls saved.

That was somewhat the point of my 5boxing, I'll get every class, and I'll have spare chars and spare free levels in case I need them later.

In this case 1 DOES NOT link with 3 or 4 or 5, ONLY with 2. For 1 to get free levels 2 has to be higher then 1 (or an alt on 1). 1 can only get free levels from 2. 2 can only get free levels from 3 etc.

All 5 are new accounts so you level 1-5 together (ALL will get 3X exp up to level 60). Lets say after 90 days all are level 60. Because all are the same level none can get any free levels. So you make alts on accounts 1,2,3,4 and they all go to level 30 insantly. (remember account 5 did not recruit anyone and thus none can give him levels or a mount). I don't see the edge there unless you move the alts to other account.

So I guess for me the free levels is worthless, because I plan to level all together (unless I want more then 26 for god knows what reason). I guess it cannot hurt to have buffing classes or something as level 30 alts on all accounts. And I only have to buy a 27th copy for some dummy account so that the last account can get his mount also heh.

On the other hand ALL 26 will be getting 3X exp ALL the time for 90 days (omg) up to level 60, assuming I make the groups out of linked accounts, which I will. Thats just insane.... Blizzard is just so out marketing SOE that is not even close. So now they get a flood of new accounts, people who get to level 60 fast, and people who are going to buy a full price WoTLK as soon as its released in November, which amazingly happens to be about 90 days away ... lol

Well I should have all 26 copies by Aug 12th or so ...

There's apparently a semi-exploit in the 3x xp - for any alt on any account, recruit a new trial account and login with a level 1 char. Now on your alt do a bunch of quests, get em stacked up but don't turn them in. Login with your level 1 trial from another copy of wow, invite to party, summon, and then turn in all your quests. You'll get 3x xp for all of them.

You shouldn't be, its supposed to not let the higher level person get the 3x boost.

I just hit 60 yesterday on my 4 new toons (and all sub'd 2 weeks ago too) so its worthless to me, gg

What you should do Sam is have one base account and have every account invite two and only two accounts. You would end up with 5 'tiers' of accounts, (1 invites 2, second tier of 2 invite 2 each which is 4 - they invite 8, they invite 16) getting 31 accounts total. The highest tier of 16 players would not get mounts - but here's the beauty of it :

You would only have to level the base 16 characters to level 60. Every other character gets insta boosted from free levels to level 60, as each one has two characters feeding it free levels. Those free levels would just trickle on down the tiers. The day your 16 'base' characters hit lvl 60 you could insta boost the other 15 characters to level 60.

That would be kinda historic and I want to see the screenshots
