Well I'm wondering this. Say I have a level 20 alt, and the level 20 boxed char on another account. In a group, they both receive triple XP.

I put a 3rd person in the party, say a level 70. Does it turn off the triple exp then even though i'm still grouped with my 'friend'?

If it doesn't, I could see mass AE killing in dungeons to be a retardedly awesome method of power leveling.

No it does not. I'm borrowing a prot paladin and boosting works just fine if you create two new characters and have a third, unrelated 70.

Just tested that out with a friend.

Me = 70
Him = two level 16s

We were grouped and I killed some level 17 mobs. He got 3x exp bonus on both chars. Looks like you don't get the bonus if the mobs are grey for the linked people, but it doesn't care if they are grey to anyone else in the group.

That's not what that means at all. It just means that a character who wouldn't normally get XP will continue to not normally get XP.

On the higher level: Pass on Random, Uncommon Quality, Group Loot or Master Looter.

set main to master looter, pass on loot and you can just right click and assign all greens and higher to alts (only those corpses twinkle too). thats how i PL, just park the alts at the entrance, bring back a ton mobs to aoe with your main, and jump every 10 minutes so they dont DC

one sucky thing about this new refer a friend is that it continues to emphasize how much more blizzard likes new customers than old ones. outside of some lame achievements, they dont really ever reward ppl who have had accounts for years. in fact you are better off buying new accounts and xfering chars to the new ones and shutting down old accounts now, which is messed up

I just started 3 boxing tonight with 3 shamans... sure is quite a steep learning curve at first trying to get everything to work and how to play effectively. Definitely much easier with the 3x XP though. Once my main guy dies, the whole group goes down pretty fast from there though, but it's working well enough. Only lvl 12 and I've gotten various tells such as is it legal and how am I doing it etc...

The people at dual-boxing forums actually suggest you report yourself for multi-boxing so you'll have the ease of mind knowing it's legal when a GM tells you so.

I've only done dual-boxing but really want to try 5-boxing.

gathering quests sure are a pain in the ass though. Have to stay there for much longer than you usually would, and have to remember to alt tab to the other windows in order to loot. Wish there was an automatic way to turn quests in and to loot
