We gave one to an enhancement shaman because he was pretty cool and we were lead by 7 rogues who enjoyed fucking over the entire guild on loot. In retrospect, since we sharded all offspec gear in aq40 because it cost as much/more than healing/tank gear did I'm surprised we gave that to him.

The best combo now is intended to be any class with any two tradeskills maxed. I can send out another copy if you didn't get that? Oh, you and EJ might squeeze out a percentage here and there but we'll fight like dogs to ensure it means nothing.

Seriously though... can we water this shit down more even possibly? Gathering is almost the same as production crafting for *personal* perks. Class matters not with +/- 5% and 'perks' like a free "I can tank now" or "I can heal now" button. No matter, dps gets a free "I can dps again now" button for those fucking bullshit fights we put in to make them hit that button. Seriously guys, plate is the same as iceblock and no mana is the same as "you can get mana if you do this!".

Jesus Christ... I have never been so disgusted with a development direction before and frankly, I am done. Oh yeah, of course I am a pissy 'pure' class but at least I am the one that was shit for the last year to boot. I still managed a raid slot but fuck if I didn't sit my own ass on progression sometimes. Gogo Vent leader I suppose.

I can't remember if dps warriors were actually non-terrible back then.
I think they were still pretty "meh" at that point. I think Srot was one of the first warriors to actually get Rag's hammer and I remember he was mortal-strike spec, which was still something of a curiosity on raid. Even stuff like Feral druids were a joke until TBC ;p I remember a few druids quiting Drow in Vanilla purely because we wanted them to spec healing.

edit: On a side note, Blizzard said the next expansion "isn't what you're expecting". Since most people were expecting the Maelstrom (which honestly is the most logical choice), this makes me wonder what they will do next.

Why do I have a feeling we will be going into "space"? ;P World of Warcraft: Shadows of Elune? X_X

TBC is the one we went to space in, I'm actually thinking the next expac will be a graphics overhaul.

I hope there isn't a graphics overhaul. The shit runs smooth of my system at max, if they did an overhaul it wouldn't. They could increase the texture quality a bit more but i still think the low poly count models with good textures and smooth animations are fine even today.

Crown of the Lich King could have some potential. Frostmourne and Ashbringer too, but I'm sure they'll find a way to disappoint. Maybe someone is carrying around Kael'Thas's runeblade, Flamestrike. Oh, I've got it! Frostmourne will be a fast off-hand sword and Ashbringer a slow main-hand sword. Rogues rejoice! Your age of neglect has passed.

I think paladins/shaman are due for an orange item for once. A spellpower shield with like 6 sockets for customization would be tight.

Have shaman been able to get ANY of the legendaries?
Can't wait to see the first fury warrior with Titans grip dual weilding frostmourne and ashbringer.

Still one of the game's strongest points. It runs playably on a wide range of machines, and if you have a stronger box it does scale well on how much better it looks and performs the more you are able to crank up settings. Playing shit like AoC and WH even though I can get them running well they still annoy me that I can't alt tab as smoothly and quickly as WoW does and entering exiting the game is more often a chore or an outright client crash trying to exit. I don't know what they do so much better but every game developer should strive to emulate the smooth play of WoW.

Absolutely.

You "ZOMG NEED BETTER GRAPHIX" assholes need to stick to fucking Xbox. When there's 150 people on the screen in Shatt, I want to be able to move.

The game looks fine, and it runs fantastic. That's shittons better than "Looks fantastic, runs like ass on my year old machine." See Vanguard. See Vanguard fail.

I just saw this on MMO Champion and it was news to me (I am sorry if it is old news):

Q: What will blacksmithing get? will we be able to repair our own armor? enchanting, alchemy, and JC are the only endgame professions.
A: With wotlk, we're trying to make all the professions applicable to end game. bs can socket gloves and belt. glove sockets are for your self only. theres going to be end game viability that everyone can use. it will stack with enchanting.

This reads like everyone will be able to get a belt socket enchant, not just Blacksmiths. Is this the case? If so this doesn't make Blacksmithing as attractive as it once was. 2 sockets was great...1 doesn't seem as great, but still good.

So did they can socket bracer? It looks fleshed out on wowhead, unlike many junked recipes we never see. There is also a 1-handed weapon socket spell, but it doesn't seem to be tied to a recipe. I doubt it got far.

Good dps warriors could always hang during vanilla. We ran with 6? I think and we'd almost always be near or above rogue level. This was the good old days when fury was absolute trash and even the tanks were MS.

Were you Horde? Assuming you gave warriors WF they were good through all of Vanilla, but particularly for Horde Arms > Fury right up until Naxx. For Alliance Fury was better BWL > AQ40 range. And yeah, until Shield Slam was implemented tanking warriors were all 31/5/15.

And you needed 1 warrior per 3 Rogues as Horde (per 4 Rogues for Alliance), so you always had a few around since you only need so many tanks and with a hybrid spec they were a gear-swap away from DPSing the next boss instead of tanking.

Belt enchant is a "belt buckle". Works like a leatherworking patch.

The profession is balanced (as far a perk goes) across two self-only sockets (one wrist, one glove).

The weapon (for weaponcrafters spec) and meta chest (for armorer spec) is gone. Just like the extra glyph for inscribers: far too difficult to balance against other profession perks.

im curious about the changes in graphics? Is it just shadows that are changed?

Also for the beta guys are the graphic changes only in Wotlk or did they redo shadows and whatever else in the older zones?

Any of you guys have any good pics showing off the graphic improvments?
