+3 Internets | Thank you for testing Age of Conan Beta (first siege.) 1. Siege weapons do not work in any form or fashion. 2. There is no limit on how many players the "Defending" team can bring into an instance. However, instances cap less than 100 players, so if you bring 100 players into an instance, the attacking team can't zone in. 3. You can easily get through walls into the keep. 4. WHEN you crash, you're not getting back in. See "2." 5. FPS, Crashes, etc. There are about half a billion design flaws I'm not going to touch on, because I don't want to give anyone ideas. ![]()

| Do you see potential for something great if they were able to balance the team cap issues, fix wall/terrain exploits (I have little hope for this, Blizzard still has issues after 3+ years) and stabilize the performance of the instance?

Damn. Seriously though, almost the entire fucking game is designed around getting to the Siege warfare portion . The last month of beta should've been devoted to this alone until it was stable. Really sucks to hear it. Last edited by Jait : 06-18-2008 at 09:10 AM.

| Aww give me a break, the potential is aboslutely huge. Lag I'm not too worried about, and you really think it will take them long to fix the player cap to work properly for each side? In my terms, it was a lot like my first AV experience.... except they actually tried to put in siege weapons, structures had a function, it wasn't 4 months after release, and it felt like pvp? And trust me, I didn't except this game to deliver. This is a sour grapes post if I ever saw one! |

| Pride Never Die | Vanguard had the "absolutely huge" potential thrown at it too and all we got is an internet meme from it "too much brown".

| Sounds like Shadowbane. With the exception of the defending issue, SB had all those issues. (SB's defenders/attackers issue was fucked by being able to set the bane stones active time during your prime time and when the other guys were asleep combined with the asian zerg guilds, who sucked dick individually but brought so many people that the game just went down to 1 fps and if you died, goodluck reloading). |

| Again, bullshit. At this point I honestly think it would be more plausible for WoW or even EQ2 to add siege / guild keep than for AOC to fix everything that's wrong with their "potential." That is to say when the core engine and design schema is as flawed as this is, the potential is completely fuckin' moot. |

| At what point do we all just agree that the few decent MMos out there flukes and by and large the genre is complete suck? I mean don't get me wrong, I fully enjoyed my time in EQ and WoW, but MMORPGs aren't batting a very healthy average at this point.

| Rushing? I wouldn't think so. But in the end it's what many of us are looking forward to. I'm having a ton of fun with it now, especially the quests, flavor, and combat. After a month of playing a couple of hours a night I'm only 50. Figure in a month (more likely two) they will have the seige stuff worked out and by then I should easily be max. |

I giggled at the -internets I received for being a "wow fanboi" (spoiler: if you honestly use the word fanboi as some sort of label of someone else you are a massive, partially-sentient piece of shit). I've not played WoW for months and was fully into AOC until the top end opened up to be a mine field of turd. But go gobble the knobs of whatever uber guild posts how disappointed they are with it and don't take my word for it. I also included EQ2 because I had played that to endgame. I could write their concept behind a siege system on a napkin in 15 seconds, and it is still painfully obvious that an established and polished backbone could implement it sooner and easier than it'll take to fix AOC's currently fucked system. TR, WOW, EQ2, EVE, LOTR, whatever. Whining "but there'th tho much potentialllllllllllllllllll" ran out of gas a few weeks ago, and I played a working version of this shit years ago. figure that one out.
