+1 Internets | EQ/EQ2 - Living Legacy. Accounts reactivated from today until July 25th! As per title, emails are popping into inboxes everywhere (well, mine and a couple of other people I know ) inviting us back to play Everquest or Everquest 2 for 2 months.Living Legacy - EverQuest, EverQuest II The main draw seems to be that in EQ you can use SOF during your stay and in EQ2 you can use the Kunark expansion. It appears if you then subscirbe to EQ2 you can keep kunark free if you hadnt already bought it. I don't know offhand if the same applies to EQ. They are also giving out "Return to EQ" packs which include armour, potions etc depending on which game you are returning to. Too much for me to type out and it's all done in pictures on the site so no copy/pasta. With the launch of AOC and the current burst of WOTLK info, we can now see how SOE are responding. I'll be taking a look at both probably during that 2 month period to see what's what. Cheque to the usual place please SOE* *for the inevitable cry of shill from some eejit.

| EQ1 Apologist | There's a lot more going on than giving out expansions. They're also re-gearing you to get you up to speed, based on your level. Since the OP didn't post any info, here it is for EQ1: Quote:

| The big problem atm with EQ2 is this Void expansion. They're worse than the writers of Lost with leaving loose ends while moving on to new plots. I noticed that no one posted a Shadow of Odyssey thread. Usually when SOE announces an expansion there's a race to create a thread on it. I mean ffs we have a Lineage 3 thread already (due in 2012). That's not good. No one likes the Void storyline except the few extremely vocal folks on the Lore board. It's half-assed, and not very interesting. We get it. The Gods created a big bad race then sent it to the void and now they're pissed. Lets get back to Dragons and Gods, and let the experts like Feist waste 15 books writing about the Void and the creatures there. EQ2 should've been a continuation of EQ1, not a brand new, highly odd storyline that basically says everything in EQ1 was a lie. Just my 2 cents. Like Furism said, this all screams gimmick, and will barely cause a dent. edit: To be a bit "nicer" and constructive to boot: EQ2 is still the king of gameplay imo. I think of all the MMO's it requires the most teamwork, thinking, and is unforgiving of mistakes. But they just can't sell it. The story sucks, the community is too fluid, and the developers are like cardboard cutouts (with a few exceptions). Vhalens departure from the game was really the last straw. Jindrack holds onto Lore like it's his personal child. And much of the playerbase feels like a cat, with Jindrack constantly dangling a ball of string just out of our reach. And the ball of string is kinda boring, but you still want/need to swat it. But eventually you say "Fuck it", claw him in the eyes and find something else to do. | Pride Never Die | I'm willing to give them a shot. It's too bad they don't give your 100 free AA's or something too, but free gear is a step in the right direction. Hopefully the gear is decent...

And as for the AA comment below yours, the changes to EQ in the last few months have made the initial AA's much faster. I have a level 65 beastlord on FV with far too much pp (last years EQ experiment leftovers) that might get some playtime. edit : For the chap below, theres a download link on this page Living Legacy - EverQuest II
