There was a double XP weekend last weekend in EQ2 and they're popping out another one this weekend (July 4th). Good weekend to level an alt or pop back in to catch up.

To many people whined about double exp events in EQ1 I doubt well see anymore of them.

Honestly most people who still play EQ1 are batshit insane.
They can't stand to have anything change, nor anyone getting something easier then they got it back in the day. I tried a comeback last year.
What a joke that game is now.

Eh this is pretty true, most are batshit insane, basically people who were always last place back in the day are first now (I'm looking at you fulorian) and act (in most cases) exactly as stated above.

Meanwhile, I still have two active accounts and play quite regularly. So, I would know.

Just think if SOE had not named EQ2, EQ2, you would have another EverQuest franchise game right now. Smedley has voiced as much. Ill always look at EQ as a great poorly managed IP. Shame they had to scrap it, but Id expect some desperate revival for an EQ3 in a few years. Smedley has also voiced that much.

Scuse me? I've been raiding the top end of the game since Velious. I reached #1 for health on Xegony during the inbetween times of PoP and GoD - almost five years ago. Last place my ass.

We're not batshit insane, we just like the game, and never found the shallow raid games of WoW or others to hold us. I know you like to think we're burrowed in, afraid to try other things, but almost everyone I know that plays EQ1 still has played another MMO up to the raiding level (WoW, Vanguard, etc). You're just making excuses to rationalize something that you're not willing to put the effort in to understand.

I downloaded EQ1 since it's free for the time being. Could someone PLEASE tell me where the option is to turn the old models on?

Also, my character is stuck in Plane of Time. How the hell do you get out? I swear I can't remember.

old models should be in the options part of the launcher.

And AFAIK you have to gate out of time.

Edit: I don't know if you can still or not but I suggest buying The Serpents Spine as a stand alone xpac merely for the Scepter of Draconic Calling. Its basically a hearthstone. 72 minute cooldown - Portal to Cresant Reach

If you don't have the origin aa and are a melee, you can click "Return Home" at character select.
