lol good plot summary, not 100% but hell, twas great :-) and I belive EQ2 timeline split at the reversal of timeflow at the end of PoP...and imo thats where EQ1's gameplay and plot started sucking it- although Fay is aparently really good, and the whol mayong thing

- Froggies kicked trolls out of Grobb, and there was some useless island that nobody cared about. (LoY)
- A small band of 'adventurers' led by one Morden Rasp discovered a bunch of underground dungeons with treasure all over the place. (LDoN)
- The gods got pissed for what happened in PoP and turned away from Norrath. Morden Rasp and Co. grew into a full scale mafia, built a huge ass ship and sailed to discover a whole new conitnent which was apparently taken over by invaders from Discord. Morden's cronies then Macroquested their way through that whole place, defeating all raids with 14 people and ghost-looting an item off the final boss. (GoD)
- Portals to Discord were discovered, so everybody went there to beat up on a real tough local Overlord. And picked up Epics 2.0. Morden Rasp was again the poster boy for the expansion but he got finally banned for hacking after appearing on the expansion box blatantly dual-wielding his rogue epic 2.0. (OoW)
- Back on Antonica, some nosy gnomes dug into a secret dragon nest. (DoN)
- Firiona Vie and Lanys T'Vyl had a catfight and accidentally stumbled into a huge underground cave system. Turned out Mayong Mistmoore was hiding there all that time. Everybody went there and killed him which for some reason made him a demi-god. (DoDH)
- Mayong invaded Plane of Music and drove Ayonae Ro mad, so we had to go there and subdue her, and Sullon Zek along the way cause she needed psychiatric help too. (PoR)
- Dragons created a new human-dragon race (drakkin). A whole new region was again discovered on Antonica. We got to beat up on a couple more dragons, some drakkins, an elf-dragon dude and a bunch of undead giants. (TSS)
- Mayong must have really hated the Ro family for some reason. So this time he found and invaded Solusek Ro's new hideout. It caused the sun to darken, which through a series of effects uncovered an ancient city at the bottom of the ocean protected by a failing force field, inhabitants of which are at war with snakes in flying pyramids that use ring transporters. To save Atla... Katta, we entered the Starg... portal and killed Mayong again, and Solusek too cause he was there. (TBS)
- An evil gnome mastermind named Meldrath built a flying fortress. When it took off, a passage to yet another unexplored area opened, and that happened to be the place where Kerafyrm landed after leaving Velious. (SoF)

Original EQ - Nagafen and Vox are trapped in their lairs for wanting to do it even though they're opposite color dragons. Freeport is corrupt, Qeynos is for hippies. Orcs + Dark Elves have an alliance against the Wood/High Elves. Portals are opened to Fear/Hate/Sky planes, gods are killed, PoSky is on acid. Mayong is chilling in his castle and will only spawn if you sit in a pentagon shape with your group and shout incantations. There's an ancient race of people called the Combine that no one knows much about other than they left a bunch of shitty weapons on vendors.

Kunark - Lizards and dragons have been living on this island everyone forgot about for thousands of years. Sebilis was the capital until a big war where Trakanon died while fighting the Iksar emperor. The emperor died too, he gives you a quest to get into Veeshan's Peak which is the main hangout for Kunark dragons. Mayong sent drachnids to Kunark as his spies. Iksar don't like anyone.

Velious - Gnomes built a boat and found the ice continent. Ice dorfs hate ice giants, ice dragons hate ice giants, ice giants hate everyone. An entrance to the Planes of Growth and Mischief are found here, which are arguably the worst and best zones ever. This is where the main concentration of dragons on Norrath are. Long time ago two dragons of opposite colors mated and made Kerafyrm, the prismatic dragon. Originally he was a good guy and a champion, but then he tried to take over and they imprisoned him in the Sleeper's Tomb with 4 guardians. You kill the 4 guardians and he runs around on a rampage and flies off. Why does Jaled Dar want you to let him loose? I remember he's got a reason for it, forgot what it was.

Luclin - A long time ago the Combine had portals to the moon. AlKabor found out how to reopen these portals. On the moon, there's cat people who got there accidentally (forgot exact story). There's snake people, who used to live on Norrath and had Iksars as slaves but RILE chased them off with the Greenmist (apparently both a weapon and a magic disease). There's the primitive grimlings, who are awesome to AE but a waste of time to raid. There's Seru, who are a people full of goofy references and bane weapons to kill 1 raid mob and SURPRISE a corrupt human society, and the Katta opposition who are the "good guys" but also have some vampires or something among them. Then there's the shadow people who have their own language, they're chilling with worms in Akheva and rocks in Vex Thal. How did Seru/Katta people get there? Why do the Shissar hold parts of the key to get into Vex Thal?

Note - At this point, the EQ2 time line splits off, everything after this may or may not have happened in the EQ2 world.

Planes of Power - Magic portals to all the planes have been opened. For some reason a bunch of planes are not included in this hub (Hate Fear Sky Mischief Growth). Mortals go into each God's plane and kill them, but wait, you're really just killing their projections and their real power lies in the Plane of Time. They try to keep you out, but in the end you kill them all and free ZEBUXORUK the Nameless god (why was he imprisoned in Time again?) but then Druzzil Ro (who does not have a plane and apparently has way more power than the other gods because she can just stop you by herself) shows up and says "POOF this didn't happen".

Legacy of Ykesha - Some trolls found a magic rock and frogs take over Grobb. This is the point where Sony realizes they can add basic features and charge expansion price for it.

Lost Dungeons of Norrath - There were some dungeons. They were lost, and now they are found. People will give you gear to go kill stuff in them. Here we learn that Mayong created or at least employed werewolves, and he has a whole bunch of vampires under his castle. There used to be sand elves in Ro, Miragul made a bunch of crazy monsters in Everfrost, there's even MORE undead frogs under Guk, and there's a bunch of orcs in an area called Rujark.

Gates of Discord - Another new continent has been found, Taelosia or something like that. There's anime people there who tried to summon a God but ended up summoning the armies of MATA MURAM, who is the commander of an interdimensional Mogul like army. Some of his forces got through but then the portal was closed. His forces are led by Tunat Muram and they are trying to open a new portal to get reinforcements in Tacvi. In Uqua, the Taelosians who summoend the Muramites are trying to summon their God again (Trushar), because it went so well the first time.

Omens of War - Muramites in Taelosia have been defeated, so we decide to enter the Plane of Discord where Overlord Mata Muram is to kill him. We find out he has enslaved the Riftseekers, who open the portals to other dimensions for him. They are not happy about working for him, and help you get into his Citadel of Anguish. Why doesn't he just kill the priests of discord to get them to stop porting you into his crib?! Dragorns are the native creatures of this place, they're a trials based society and I have no idea why their civilization is in the plane of discord. Maybe it used to be a real place? Don't remember.

Dragons of Norrath - HEY we just remembered there are a whole bunch more dragons just off of Lavastorm. I didn't quite get the lore from this, who was Vishimitar and how did he fall? Not much to this expansion.

Depths of Darkhallow - Now that we've gone to the moon and other dimensions, it's time to go underground. There's a civilization of squid face people. Their capital is Illsalin. They were fucked up by Mayong but at the last minute decided to make themselves undead so they wouldn't get wiped out. There's still some live squidheads who are "good guys". Spider people and werewolves in abundance here, both are in cahoots with Mayong. Mayong has built a demiplane for himself here, the Demiplane of Blood. You storm his castle and mess him up, only to find out that because you've given him the respect of a god now he is a god, which is exactly what he wanted.

I quit here, so I'd like a summary of PoR, TSS, TBS, and SoF if someone wouldn't mind.

you pretty much summed it up. only thing you didnt mention:

Planes of Power: Zerobuxor was imprisoned because he wanted to teach to mortal the divine language or something like. dont know what exactly was but it would put us out of Gods' controll

Omens of War: Dragorns dont live in plane of Discord. What we explore in OoW expansion is just their native world conquered by Mata Muram army. in OoW manual they clearly say that MM was just 1 of the many overlords who command the Discord army and who was using Anguish Citadel as his stronghold while he launched assaults to other worlds thanks to the Riftseekers

Dragons of Norrath: in his quest of vengeance against dragons, Venril Sathir created a powerful curse using the chaos magic that entered our world after the invasion of Mata Muram army. the cure was launched on Dragons' breeding nest, endangering the hatching of an entire generation of dragons. Vishimtar is nest's guardian and the first major victim of the curse. He also trick the solusek miners to dig north and open the path to the nest for mortals. so we can go there and fuckup the place like only we can do

To notice is the fact just after the creation of the curse Venril is visited by Mayong. they look like reluctant allies, sharing secrets and tools for their own separated goals

Depths of Darkhollow: i really cant remember the details, but basically, Mayong's magic during the years has become so powerfull that he was able to create a demiplane and is working on reach godhood. he push us (the mortals) to assault and kill him. this action is the catalist of his own ascention to full divinity

Prophecy of Ro: the first action Mayong does with his newlyfound divinity is twisting the plane of music to a corrupted version of itself, up to making Ayonae Ro completely crazy. To stop this, Druzzil Ro recruit you. im not entirely sure how the trials in plane of magic are connected to it. Nor i have fully understood why you go back in time to change history and trying to prevent the destruction of Takish-Hiz (there must be a connection with the The Buried Sea, because Takish-Hiz was destroyed by Solusek Ro, and in TBS expansion Mayond and Solusek are allied)

i have almost zero infos about the last 3 expansion since i have never played them.

Mayong touches nearly every expansion and is definitely EQ1's most prominent character.

Vanilla - Nothing too major, just the introduction of his castle and some GM events featuring him.

Kunark - Introduction of his creation, the drachnids.

Velious - His emo girlfriend lives at the top of the Tower of Frozen Shadows.

Luclin - Not sure here. Is he related to the vampires in Katta in any way?

PoP - Not directly related, but I believe in lore he uses the distraction of you attacking the gods to make his move into growing powerful enough to become a god.

LDoN - 20% of this expansion is dedicated to him, a greater portion of the lore introduced is as well. We find out his vampire/werewolf followers all vie for his attention and are constantly fighting each other.

GoD / OoW - Guess he's not here?

DoDH - The entire expansion revolves around him. Pretty crazy how much he's built up his power now, basically 80% of the raid content is his creations, the drachnids/werewolves and then his keep/plane. Only the Emperor and the giant robot/mushrooms weren't Mayong's people I think?

and it sounds like pretty much all of the expansions after DODH tied into him.

Non-lore Mayong story: SOE realized pretty quickly that they had a cool, mysterious character that people wanted to see since they looked in every corner of his mansion and didn't find him.

Where does he come from anyway? He's a dark elf, he's got a mansion in Lesser Faydark (which must be a mansion he had before he became such a badass, given it's a level.. what? 20-35 level zone?), and then we learned he created all kind of creatures and is, in fact, a god. At least they were more subtle in the retcon than Blizzard is. Since they had nothing to retcon from.
