+24 Internets | My warrior is 65 full time and a couple early GoD pieces. My little free armor bag had legs,bp and bracer as well as a weapon, none of which were superior to anything I had. Close but not better , just to give an idea for those that quit maybe around the time I did, early 2004. The stuff is sellable though so that's a bonus,if you don't want to use it you can at least make some money off it for use to slot up places that might be weak. Of course I found out the bazaar still requires you to be logged in the game to be in trader mode, which is a gay as hell so I won't be selling anything. |

| Looking to come back for the trial period. Me and my bro have 5 accounts between us, and I'm wondering what an ideal group composition would be. We plan on playing mostly old school areas, and we have no twink fund available to us as we are starting fresh on Firiona Vie server. Here is my plan: Me: Rogue, Paladin, Bard Bro: Druid, Enchanter. I pick the rogue and paladin because they are pretty easy to just autoplay pretty much and I've always wanted to have a bard. The druid and enchanter are to fill out the needed slows/heals department as well as have some teleports available to us. Would this group work well? Or is there a better one? |

I would keep the druid in because of barbs/dps/blessing of 9. Pallies used to get lesser versions of Cleric Aegolism and stuff iirc. You won't be able to keep your wizzy afk behind a mob...but just hitting 1 button every few seconds won't be that much more difficult. Just my opinion from what little I recall...so this Wiz + Pally + Bard + Druid + Chanter setup may be gimpier than other stuff. Yeah... Kinda fun to think about these classes again...argh. Must...resist...

ooo what about a berserker instead of a rogue? I've never even grouped with a zerker back in the day... how would that work? I was also looking at a magician instead of rogue as well... Last edited by cuervos : 06-05-2008 at 07:58 PM. | |

| For a nice undead hunting grp, you could go Pali, Cleric, chanter, nec....then throw your dps with either rogue, monk, or gar. Myself I would go with shammy for the buffs/dots/debuffs. With this set up the pali will have awesome range of HP buffs. Chanter brings the all precious mind candy...and can nuke as needed. Since shammy will handle slow on inc, you can concentrate on grabbing aggro with pali. Nec gives you snare, pet dmg, and and can pull if they cant be lulled. With lich you practically have non stop mana. If you can get the clicky snare from Time eventually that would be bonus. My favorite item I have ever looted since it makes aggro kiting a breeze. I would have brother run nec and shammy....you run pali/cleric/chanter. Since you will only mainly use chanter for buffs and a nuke or 2, that leaves you both basically 2 boxing. In case it has been a long time for ya...the key is steady pulling...and this grp should eat thru undead mobs...specially when pali gets slay undead. |

+8 Internets | Eh well that was disappointing, EQ1 that is. Haven't played since I quit and went to WoW in 2005-ish. The game is so bad now comparably. Luclin models look even worse now, if that is possible. My Half-Elf Bard looks like a gay hunchback that leans to the side all the time. Povar server seems completely dead, was like 4 people around 70 lfg in primetime. After the playability of WoW I wouldn't even play EQ for free these days. A peek at several hundred new AAs is the last nail in the coffin. I'll say one thing though, the intro music is still awesome. Brings back a lot of great memories. I swarm kited a few mobs in PoD for old time sake, then perma logged the Bard in Tranquility. Guess that's where he will be when the servers get turned off, whenever that is. ![]() |

+1 Internets | I must be weird because, while I liked the polished accessible feel of WoW, I just couldn't get into the game. It felt too shallow to me. I got a Paladin up to level 55 before I stopped playing. Everquest, on the other hand, is home to me. I've quit multiple times throughout the years, but I just keep coming back. I actually reactivated my account back in March and have been playing ever since. The last time I quit was during early Omens of War days and my guy was only lvl 67 with crappy gear. It took a few days to get the feel of things and find out where I needed to go to get exp, but within two months I was level 80 with fairly decent gear. I've been casually grinding AAs in groups and solo and I managed to get 300 since mid-April. Grouping is still a ton of fun and it is what keeps me coming back for more. This last time I came back, almost none of my friends from the old days were around, but I was quickly able to make new ones. I try most new MMORPGs, and while I have enjoyed a lot of them, but everything just feels shallow in comparison to Everquest in my opinion. |

| reading trough the thread right now, one question in advance tho. I am an oldschool cleric (and enchy) but i really really disliked how they destroyed my one most important beloved cleric tool. /Assist. They somehow destroyed that a few years ago and it started lagging badly so my healer "eye" was gone (it was fun knowing who would take dmg before the target itself). Does assist still lag? I want it ultra fast(3-4times per second). |
