| Still waiting on a new round of progression server/s... but even my interest in that is waning as they take increasingly too long to deploy it/them. I can't really muster any interest in coming back to play catch-up on any of my existing characters. It doesn't matter how many expansions, items or XP they offer, really. |

| I have few accounts and no money or items on Nameless. My highest character is in the 50's. I'm thinking it may be best for me to just start over as Nameless looks like a ghost town and I don't have much. Any suggestions? |

| I would love to log into EQ again, but the acct. I used for that is linked to a dead and unknown e-mail. Recovery is impossible. I certainly don't have the CDs anymore. I was like 75% done with epic 2.0 when I quit for the last time. At least that was pretty damn cool, but I didn't dig the return to 2 minute fights when I was enjoying GoD encounter design so much. The huge HP grind mobs are what drove me over the edge. |

| Didn't recognize anyone on Druzzil Ro from my Xev days. Not sure if I should mess with my 70 SK, 67 Druid, or make a wizard or something and dink around at low level for awhile. Kinda sad my SK doesn't have a CoS or Elder Beads anymore though heh. |

| +Internets can now be exchanged for free original thought potions! | Then you have the mooch EQ player. Never around, until you want to log in, then he appears out no where, wanting to check his auctions and mail and shit. "Um, you know you can get your own account, right? They sell this." "That's a damn shame because I just quit yesterday. Scoot over." ALSO, for the guys saying they were crashing upon hitting play, this is apparently the fix, after fucking with it for 3 hours last night. Get into the main eq folder (program files/sony/everquest) and open eqclient.ini. At the bottom you'll see these settings towards the middle of the page: Width=1280 Height=800 WindowedWidth=1280 WindowedHeight=800 Chane those numbers to your current desktop resolution. In the top settings section, anywhere under [DEFAULT] add: WindowedMode=TRUE Last edited by Salshun : 06-04-2008 at 09:40 PM. |

| I love these free re-trial accounts because it gives me a chance to level and gear up my old characters, but honestly they should just do a deal like LOTRO and offer a lifetime subscription for like 200 bucks, I'd pay it. I only really feel like playing EQ once every couple months

+3 Internets | This is pretty cool. Never played EQ2 in my life minus that Newbie Island demo a few years ago but for whatever reason I have a fully active EQ2 account with all the bonus items for being there 4 years. This will give me something to do this summer, that's for sure. |

+24 Internets | IF you are playing EQ2 fresh and the EQ2 newb thread is to deep now to wade through, I suggest making adapting whatever starting character choice you make to spawn you into Timouros deep. This is Neutral/Evil only I think and not pure eveil. The quests there are pretty easy, and move you along nicely, but more importantly the gear will last you till your 30's which is important considering how inflated many EQ2 servers have become. Also once oyu get lvl 10 quests it's recommended that you turn off combat XP and level to 20 simply off of quests so you gather some AA points, they'll beef up your character nicely and they'll come fast early on. You will only get AA for quests labeled lvl 10+ though, although I guess now you get AA even form grey quests but starting out TD/AA 10-20 makes for a really nice leveling character. |

| Troll I felt the same way (about EQ1) for the first few hours back. I really had to kinda grind my way through figuring out exactly what the fuck was going on. Once I figured out what all my spells did again, though, and discovered that "Holy shit I can port anywhere using the guild hall -- cool!" everything started to smooth out. |

And in all honesty, AA exp is gained insanely easily by questing and even EASIER once you hit level cap and continue doing quests to benefit your character. Turning off combat EXP will do nothing but ruin your quest progression (which is the easiest way to level). My 26 bruiser has 22 AA points and is already beginning to have trouble with her quests out-leveling her WITHOUT turning off combat EXP (I also managed to miss almost an entire quest series in Timorous by accident D=). Turning of combat exp for any reason is just stupid and will do nothing but delay your adventure levels and ruin quest progression. The gear in TD is seriously great compared to almost every gear in the game available for almost ~15-20 levels. The only thing I'd advise spending any money on are weapons as the procs from crafted weapons end up out-dpsing anything you get from quests. And if you are a class that relies on mitigation, sometimes the crafted armor is better than the gear from leveling as outdated mitigation ends up hurting you before the gear "seems" better. Wherever you decide to begin -- STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM THE NEWBIE ISLE. Start in the EoF/RoK starting areas. Timorous Deep > Darklight Wood > Greater Faydark (in order of leveling quality). | Yeah the gear isn't as good in DLW but I like DLW better. More contained, and I like the quests better in terms of visual quality. Like the fire avatar quest. The gear thing isn't that big of a deal for me though anyway since it'll all get swapped out for MC'd at 32 anyway.
