Alpha, and yes I know. Unless they add a spirit based talent, paladin efficiency/regen is still entirely crit/downranking based and protadins rely entirely on SA for mana regen.

All paladins is technically accurate for wotlk alpha, but they haven't touched paladins much yet. I would expect it to stay useless for prot paladins unless they completely revamp the spec. SA is just generally a much better mechanic for tanking mana than spirit.

Really, they need to just junk mp5 and give every mana-using class access to a 30%-in-5SR talent or spell. That stat needs to die, as it's strictly inferior under the current formulas. Good to hear they're on their way to achieving that. AND STOP PUTTING IT ON ENHANCEMENT GEAR FUCKTARDS.

Anyway, from what I saw about Ye Newe Talente Tree(tm), they're on the right track as far as I'm concerned (for new stuff and some mergers), but really, I'm starting to think that someone needs to wake the fuck up when it concerns Demonology:

- Who cares about Master Conjurer, with respect to Firestones and +6 spell crit rating? Anyone? Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure that a) Firestones are meaningless compared to some of the wands you can get; b) people don't exactly use Spellstones for the spell crit (ie - the effect overshadows the rest).
- Improved Voidwalker, Enslave Demon. Remember these? Remember what exactly they do? I can only say one thing: it's not so hot even on paper. Sure you get +30% threat generation from a VW's taunting capability, but that's not saying much when you consider the pain we can put out. The target is usually dead before this even matters. How about, oh, giving this talent some ACTUAL TANKING MERIT??? You know, Voidwalker taking less damage, threat (NOT TORMENT/SUFFERING) +30%, Sacrifice can heal you... things like that?!?! Oh, and Improved Enslave Demon can go into Master Summoner, imo. Unless they revamp the spell, the effect of Improved Enslave is quite arguably meaningless.
- Empowered Imp more than smells like OVERpowered Imp to me. Let's review the total benefit it can get: +65% damage (Improved Imp 30% + Unholy Power 20% + Empowered Imp 15%), and the /yawn Demonic Power which, personally, really belongs in Demonology, AND I get a chance for a doubled crit percentage? Hoowee. I'm sure it wouldn't be too imbalancing to take out the +30% Firebolt from Improved Imp and replace it with -0.25sec/rank to the cast time. :P
- Love Struck seems exactly like the kind of ability the Succubus should get (60+?). Maybe to replace Soothing Kiss, even. It's a neat idea, but not really something that seems like a standalone talent since it has PVP written all over it; I HATE PVP-only talents. They might as well just put a big flag on them saying "This isn't worth it unless a player is attacking you" because that's pretty much what I'm seeing at the moment.
- Demonic Pact is... random. +5% spirit... why? Since when have Warlocks ever cared about this stat? Did they change something I'm not aware of?
- Fel Synergy seems like a copout for the stat sharing, except for the Malefic set bonus part of it (something I certainly wanted in Demonology).
- I don't understand exactly how Demonic Empowerment works. Anyone want to share some hot alpha infoz?!

I mean, I like where things are headed, but the legacy of things could really use attention. I, uh, have a few ideas but no one ever listens to me when I actually talk sense. :p

At this point, they should just remove mana from the game honestly. I said it in another thread, fuck probably this one, but you could make heals cost -0- mana and you would only impact 2, maybe 3 fights in the game to any ridiculous degree. Give everyone energy, call it a day. Next expansion they can retool energy so everyone uses a different resource system for spells.

Mana is fucking retarded.

I was wondering when we were gonna see shaman stuff.

That Blessings of the Eternal in the resto line says it increases the bonus healing from your Earthliving weapon by 5%, has this ability been revealed?

feeling stupid for asking this, but what is with all the +crit bonuses to resto shaman? (including elemental focus working on healing spells now) are shamans going to be wearing plate? (as I said, I feel really dumb for even pondering that, but are they and paladins going to be splitting gear?)
