It is, but Mages are a completely useless class right now, Warlocks do EVERYTHING better, except for casting AI and sheep.

Also, speaking of Warlocks and the Infernal, does anyone know if you can summon and release the Infernal on the Eredar Twins fight, and then just bounce it around, using the immolation aura to clear Dark Touched?

Well, personally I'd just have them ditch Demonic Sacrifice. I think we've established at this point that it gives Destruction too much of a boost, from how everyone is qq'ing about Warlock DPS being so high, and I've seen the numbers myself. I think covers it.

That's why I advocate making Infernal/Doomguard more reliable (or maybe "raid" pets?)

Does but won't

Both Hellfire and Infernal damage removing the Dark Touched -debuff are known issues in this encounter, and they will be fixed in an upcoming patch; the Hellfire issue is already included in the test realm patch notes for 2.4.2. In other words, no, this is not intentional and not something you can expect to remain in the game. Thank you very much for your report however!

You cant summon Infernals inside, only in areas flagged as outdoors. They also don't zone with you. I haven't been to twins so no clue if that spot is considered outside.

Doomguards are the only "special" pet you can use indoors.

The twins room itself is considered indoors but you can go through the back door (doesn't close) or front door (provided you clear trash) and it's considered outdoors.

Time for some fluff - new emotes: WotLK Information Wiki: Emotes
I wonder if any of these will be animated - /facepalm and /object might work, among others.
