AOC - General Discussion II

The game has been very enjoyable for me so far. Best MMoRPG to be released in a long time. The launch was the smoothest I have ever experienced. No lag or server crashes. When it really hit me was last night when I was in a Sanctum of the Burning Stars (The first real group instance) group. I enjoyed it tremendously, and was very impressed. The size, look, and feel of the instance is amazing. I would recommend that everyone try to run through it.

When I got to the second bosses room I got the same feeling as when I first saw the wooden bridge between the commonlands in Everquest. Nothing in WoW or any other game has impressed me with something of size like that. It really gave me confidence in the game that I was lacking before it came out. I took some screen shots, but I am not sure it gives it justice.

I threw in a couple of other random screenshots also. I am really enjoying the game so far, and if you are looking to try it I would recommend it over anything else that has come out since WoW.

I still have questions about PvP.

When can you join into PvP Battle Arenas/Games?

Are there any rewards for PvP levels/kills yet? (aka any point to pvp?)

I think threads break on this forum software, sometimes.

So, HoX, conqueror, or ranger once I can play (tomorrow, hoping I can finish up patching tonight at least though).

Yeah is there quick "sport" PvP in this game? Arena or Scenarios or whatever? meaning can I jump in and play PvP whatever for 20-30 minutes and get out having accomplished something?

Got a question about demonologist, whats the difference between the two trees? Was looking for the pvp and pve tree but they look the same. Maybe I'm too used to wows this spec is for pve dps and this spec is for pvp etc.

Ranger just got some ranged dps buffs. Conqueror is still not so hot. My live main is a HoX mainly because I just like the concept.

But all these classes will be balanced and changed alot in the next 3 months imo.

You will be able to get PVP levels. Also I'm pretty sure there are rewards, but nothing has been released since it wasn't in in Beta.

As far as i can tell, you can open up a window, select which game type you want to play, and then enter a match/que.

Havent done it myself but thats what it looks like.

Hey Tol, I really appreciate your response, that was exactly what I needed to know.

One more thing if you could. If Warlord is relatively worthless can you comment on how hoarfrost and the other non-carnage line offensive buffs compare to the buffed up fire weave? If I could cut carnage out entirely or at least limit it to the first two tiers that would help a lot, but I've heard fire weave may be the best buff we get.

Any other ToS players here? Mine is up to 22 now. I think I got one to 23 or so in beta(didn't log back in until the last 3 weeks of closed beta).

In beta I had a Thunder build and enjoyed it. I'm thinking of doing the same again. So far I'm the only healer in my small guild(might have a BS soon). Generally I level quickly and tend to play alone since I may have to stop at any given time to tend to my son or puppy. When possible, I'll join a small guild group for questing as well.

I plan very much on participating in PVP. I'm on the RP/PVP server as well.

Any comments/suggestions on a good build for my style? Basically I'm looking for reading material since the damn servers are down again...
