when I tried the thunder tree it was garbage, way to waste tons of points on underpowered crap, anyone tried "staggering voice" talent seems like stun overall many ToS talents seem broken or give only tiny benefits, examples from the lightning talent-tree: Faithful of Set -> miniscule heal improvement Colaesce Ether -> no effect the last time I was grouped with casters Cyclone of Set -> 60 dmg every 2s or so on even con mobs, with 5 points its 120is dmg, I' ll go down that shit all the way and find out if 3 of these wimpy cyclones are better, or scale to a decent level at level 80, at least they have no absurd long cooldown (like many other talents) Any level 80 ToS around here who could comment on some talents? Especially from the thunder tree, Divide and Conquer is one that I didnt notice any effect and I wonder if that one and 'symbiotic idol of set' increases damage noticeable (the idol seemed to become weaker the further I leveled and I specced out of it, no longer enduring the suckage)

In most Group PvP, it hasn't looked that retarded. People don't need to swing mid-air, if others are CCing or KBing targets for you. People who are swinging mid-air get CCd and end up doing no damage and having a combo timer wasted. There's much, much less running away in Group PvP at 80. Groups clash, one survives. That's how it's been so far... what you are witnessing is more of the lower level small skirmishes where people tend to exercise marathon ability.

| Conqs and PoMs are far more overpowered in PvP without question at the moment. Even with the cooldown on the auto-res, Conq is still potent. ToS is thought that way because leveling is frankly easy when you can heal, eznuke one target, eveneziernuke 3 targets and with work take out 10-12 that are your level or minus 1-2. Oh yeah, and up until the last patch you could kill an infinite number of -3 or worse mobs as long as you could group them up. It is a great toolset. Excellent grinding of multiples (fed by the Chain system). Perfect solo target killing, although slow it is always certain. The solo killing setup takes a bit and is inefficient for grinding but I can indeed flip to pre-load mode and kill anything not 3+ over me, elite or otherwise. Times may have changed though as shit hits hard now and my active blocking only lasts so long. Still, good grouping through nice heals (non stacking sucks though) and AE, which is all groups care about.

+24 Internets | Well about ToS, when I duel our ToS, I'll always pop phoenix cloak first, because their damage is random as hell, but once in a while when stars align, they'll instant kill me before I reach melee range. It doesn't happen quite often at all though, and even with their autocrit and column, they'll take me down to like 1.5k-2k hps, from which I can recover with a pot, demon maws and avatar. I still pop phoenix cloak though, totally negates the incoming damage, then I remove it once I've sucked the initial damage. But yeah, we've seen some pretty pathetic numbers too, lighting damage in general has such a huge variance(demos too) that it tends to fucking sucks. About demo vs tos dps in group pvp though, I'm surprised your demo friend outdps the tos often. Mostly because, as a HoX, my main targets will usually be necro and demos first, they hurt, but they fall over way too easily, and while necro has a decent self defense move(instant ae fear), demos only have their crappy kb thingie, which, like all kb moves has a treshold it seems, and either it's very low, or I've been immune everytime I jumped one in demon form. Same with repulse, every pom tht don't have empowered, if I'm in demon form with the supposedly "bugged" roots of hell feat, I can just stay in repulse range and not get kbed. Gives 75kb resist instead of (feat description) "The weight of a full plate soldier". I somewhat wish it gave that ^^. Even if I don't manage to kill them fast, I should be hurting them enough to force them to stop dpsing for long periods of time. Lastly, whoever linked the pom screen of repulse, every 2minutes, there's a feat in divinity called Clarity of Mind, which gives a free mana spell. If you take the advanced feat of this(forgot the name), it like, doubles dmg on that free spell. Most PoMs tend to use it on repulse for good burst. Stun you, then clarity+repulse then finish the burst with rebuke/cleansingfire and a lance/smite. It's pretty much their one trick, and it can hurt pretty bad, it also seems much more reliable than tos damage, because there's less variance on repulse(more consistent damage). We've had 2 PoMs chain those(along with a hox charge/AEstunning our healers) and they pretty much wiped us instantly. Only our 2melees were out of the pack. |

+2 Internets | Funcom - Funcom and Eidos announce massive evolution plans for Age of Conan Massive PvP update in June – New areas and dungeons – Powerpoints and Guild Alliance warfare to come Durham, USA – June 13, 2008 – After the incredible initial success for Age of Conan, a whole world of MMO players are eagerly anticipating the future plans for one of the most popular online games ever released. While Age of Conan has already evolved massively since launch, numerous expansive additions are yet to come. Funcom and Eidos are therefore proud to lift the veil on Age of Conan’s promising future, and today the two companies reveal selected features which are now in production. "While we have enjoyed the initial success for Age of Conan, we know that a solid launch is but the start when it comes to the MMO genre,” said Gaute Godager, Game Director on Age of Conan. ”As we look ahead we are preparing a huge amount of new content, and what we are presenting today will evolve Age of Conan even further. It’s naturally an incredibly ambitious update plan for a live MMO game, but we are certain our players would want nothing less.” Without further ado, here are some of the cool things to expect in the months to come: PvP evolved – To the Death The great combat system in Age of Conan has taken MMO fighting to a new level of fun, and Player versus Player combat plays a major part in this. As a result, a massive new PvP update is planned for late June. Aptly called To the death, this update brings more consequence and rewards to PvP, and an important part of it is the Fugitive system. The more lower level players you kill, the easier it is for others to hunt you down. In addition, ten PvP levels with additional ranks will be introduced, as well as specific gear and weapons for PvP. Guild Alliance Warfare Preproduction has started on a MASSIVE free update which will come later this year. Currently titled "Kingship!”, large clusters of guilds will be able to form alliances, and rule and conquer on a massive scale. Everyone in a guild alliance will play a part in this system, and together they can even erect unique looking alliance Battlekeeps. The alliances can also fight over, and build, culture-specific "wonders of the world”, with a direct link to higher powers! As part of the system Funcom will also facilitate larger amounts of players in massive battles. Powerpoints This fall, a unique reward and character evolution system called Powerpoints will be introduced. This rewards active in-game behavior, and allows for gathering points through numerous methods, including owning a Battlekeep, playing the end-game at level 80, winning PvP matches, or simply being an active guild member or subscribing to the game. There will be many ways to obtain Powerpoints, and numerous rewards, ranging from exclusive Powerfeats to weapons, armor and potions. Powerpoints may even allow you to level faster! New areas and dungeons You won’t need to wait for an expansion pack to explore exciting new areas. In the next period, Funcom will include several new areas, as well as evolving already existing areas. This includes a brand new dungeon in Aquilonia, reshaping three dungeons in Stygia, and an entire mountain range in Cimmeria! Improved player-made villages and Battlekeep systems While the guild alliance system brings a whole new level to the game, Funcom will continue to expand the existing player-made areas and the systems running them. A focus on evolving the massive elements of the game even further continues, ranging from placing NPC’s in the cities to more choices and benefits. Social updates An MMO is nothing without a good social scene. While Conan is all about crushing your enemies, social enhancements are also getting some love. A fun example is the combo-based dancing system which is now coming to the game, and it’s entirely motion captured by professional dance artists. More adventures Age of Conan has received tremendous praise for immersion and the great voice-over quests. This is but the start of the adventure, and numerous new quests are coming into the game, spread across the entire world and across the level ranges. Soon 60 additional quests will also get full voice acting, further improving immersion. Embracing community feedback Since launch several enhancements and fixes have been implemented to Age of Conan, and Funcom has continuously staffed up the service departments to improve customer satisfaction. This has already resulted in a better game experience, but the work will continue. At the heart of all of this stands the Age of Conan community. A lot of the upcoming improvements to the game will be based directly on community feedback, and the wishes and concerns players have when it comes to the future of the game will always be taken into account. By reading the community websites, official forums and the monthly Clan of Conan newsletter you can expect additional information about upcoming features and released updates, as well as an arena to give your feedback. A new Clan of Conan newsletter is also going live today, with more detail on the upcoming features. http://funcom.cachefly.net/WebFiles/Newsletter/Issue17/ Last edited by Vehn : 06-13-2008 at 07:44 AM. |

| That all sounds great, especially the guild alliance stuff. Can't wait to see some of this come down the pipeline. The combo dancing thing has me a bit intrigued.

| It feels like Funcom was struggling there for a bit, finally decided to push AoC out, and were GREATLY rewarded for it. The influx of cash allowed them to hire a bunch more dev and support staff, which allows them to "polish" the game post-launch. Based on this success, I would not be surprised at all to see more MMOs come out in an "almost" complete state, with a "free month" of play to justify the virtual beta experience. |

| Yea I know you can dance, but the way they made it seem is that there will be dance combos, so like, dynamic dancing? Not sure, I could be missing what they are saying completely.

+2 Internets | just do one of your directional attacks, and a combo will come up for dancing, and you just follow the combo directions (like ddr, but it's only in 2 directions). Then after you perform the dance combo, the character wil perform a special move. Different moves for different attack directions |

I retired mine at 60. I still enjoy the play style when i log him on from time to time, but my PoM is just so much more durable/useful.

| One thing to realize is, that if Funcom gives a fuck about their game, buffs/nerfs to classes will be happening to even everybody out. Which is why I said "fuck it" and re-created the BS i deleted out of frustration, since theres not another class I enjoy the play of more. Yeah, when rolling solo I get drop-kicked like no tomorrow, but I also can turn the tide of a battle with an HoX at my side.
