Are there any rewards for PvP yet? BG stuff or XP or anything? I remember getting ganked in open beta and the first time I got 10k PVP xp, then I think I started losing xp when I got ganked. Haven't seen anything of the sort so far in retail.

A nice addon would be for the combo indicator window that pops up. Let me click on those arrows to do the combos please.

So far I am liking the game. Game looks good on my Computer. I am running a older comp.



AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Venice 2.0GHz Single Core
1 gig memory
7600GT BFG 256meg V. Card

I am getting around 15-35 FPS in the game. Few times I freeze up a little bit but nothing that is game stopping. Over all the Game has ran very smooth and I am quite impressed.

I only have played for about 3 hours total since yesterday and I have a lvl 6 Ranger.


Question: when going to white sands, It asked for normal mode or Epic. I am thinking Epic is Instance designed for a grp? I have gone on Normal and I share the area with every one there.

Well the combo system definitely has an impact on gameplay. Q/E really don't, they're basically carbon copies of 1 and 3 inserted randomly into higher level combos.

Unholy just seems too much like a cooldown warrior. You can pop all of your lifetaps and own face for one fight, but then you're pretty mediocre for a few minutes.
I've tested out both and you're correct. You are a 2-3 minute warrior. Some of the poisons are weak though Flesh Rot, fully buffed 5 stacked does 31 damage a tick at level 41. Useless. Toxic Poison does around 140 damage a tick at level 41 with 4/5 in the feat.

Flesh Necrosis is useless, 3-5 stack does anywhere between 100-200 damage. Which is basically just a weapon strike.

It's only good for boss mobs.

Poison spec looks better for getting offhand attacks, which get poison buffs later on.

They are patching in Season 1 Arena gear next week for PvP

It's possible, although it's currently really limited, not unlike VG. I looked through the XML last night while I was patching but I'd hazard a guess that most folks will be too busy playing to make anything complicated. At one point in time, I had read somewhere that they might be adding LUA support but I'm unaware of whether that was said by Funcom or not.

The game is amazing. Gorgeous graphics, solid game play, interesting abilities, entertaining lore/quests, and engaging combat, BUT

It has some very serious flaws (which I think will be address in the near future).

1. The UI is atrocious. None of it is untuitive. There are so many things that bother me about it, I could write a novel. Group interface is complete fucking garbage, targeting using the mouse makes me want to set my hair on fire, no chat colors/windows = seriously wtf, give me some notification (bell or something) when I get a tell or group invite, no enemy cast bar, etc.

Copy WoW's UI, please. Thanks.

2. While collision adds an interesting element to the game, it's caused nothing but problems. I've been completely stuck 4 times in the last 24. One time I managed to get stuck BEHIND a goddamn ladder attached to a wall. Wtf? Not to mention the moments where you're walking along and your character comes to a complete stop because you drug your foot across a pebble.

3. A lot of misc bugs. The one that was pissing me off to the highest level of pistivity yesterday was if you disconnect while in a group, you'll still show as being in the group (to them) even though you're not and can't be reinvited to the group. I tried relogging, sometimes it fixed it, sometimes it didn't.

4. Everything being case sensitive. Minor gripe, but was that really necessary?


Overall, I love the game. It's fantastic, but still pisses me off. It's got MASSIVE potential. Let's hope Funcom keeps it going.

About the various Q/E directional attacks questions, no casters do not get them at any level(and it'd be worthless anyway, hell I only have one direction keybound, and it's on a far reach key too), and no they don't make any difference but add another 2 keys to press during complicated combos for no specific reasons because they hit the same shields as 1 and 3. Mob used to have 5 shields though iirc, like 1year ago, probably a remnant from that.

2nd Custom UI Age of Conan Forums

This is the UI im using, he is apprently working on a scaled down that he says will be fast to release so look for that today or soon. Im running in 1920 x 1200 and this is just a little to big. But still better then the default crap. You can just install this and turn off those craptastic extra hotbars. If you want to revert just delete the .xml from your 'customized' folder..

Gonna make a call on this ahead of time, but late game feat management is going to get super annoying. I predict most classes will have a feat set up for Grouping, Raiding, PVP, soloing, ect.

Hopefully they add a feat management system which allows players to pre pick their trees and switch back and forth. Either that or just make it super expensive so switching isn't an option. All or nothing, but I don't want to have to spend 20 minutes before an activity changing my feats and rearranging my hotbar.
