I really like the game, but no way to deny they are fucking up extremely atm.
Nerfing sucking classes.
Increasing 70+ mob strength while 60-80 content is extremely lacking. And added to this people being locked out from Oasis/etc type zones for days or even weeks.
Patches hardly get any testing before they are being released.

This smells a lot like ghostkill in Everquest, without the fast killing.
Dear MMO producers: Buy a copy of "Exploiting Online Games" by secure programming gurus Greg Hoglund and Gary McGraw for every developer you employ.

Five year development my ass.

Puppets may not be fixed, I have a feeling the guy is just an idiot and didn't realize that it has always made mobs go blue. Given that euro zones are crashing every 3 minutes due to the awesome bug I doubt he did more than log in and charm the nearest rabbit. If it is fixed, oh well, had it coming.
Where is the test-server board? I can't find it.

Interesting, I didn't know such a book existed.

Greg Hoglund did an irreverent presentation on exploiting online games at last year's Defcon, "Virtual World, Real Hacking": DefCon 15 - T206 - Virtual World, Real Hacking

It focuses on WoW, but the fundamentals apply to the entire MMO industry.

This isn't relevant to the patch but whatever.

Some boss mobs in certain area don't leash for whatever reason, Like in E. Mtns a little bit ahead of the mountain hut there is all the ice worms. You can aggro the boss worm and all his buddies and then drag them all the way down to the main quest town. There are no guards inside the town, just NPC's and vendors...

Anyhow once you are in town aggro drops off you and the mobs bug out, you can't attack them anymore and they kill everything in town, all the vendors, quest guys etc. The NPC's respawn after about a minute,so the worms can't kill everything and despawn they just get stuck in a cycle of endless death. It's pretty comical to watch, probably pisses some people off to.

Well beta has an NDA but I guess I can mention whats not there. And thats the patch notes, and also internal QA people that don't even know about the new changes themselves and have to have discussions with players to try and figure them out. Then hearing about a patch getting pushed live when there were known problems in live.... Some major communication problems going on from what I can tell.

For what it's worth, a dev replied in the beta boards saying that starting next week their patch cycle is changing.

Probably be the first time I've been happy to have less frequent patches, lol

Ok,

This Demonologist sustained 1000 DPS on mostly single mob pulls? Come on. You're telling me your Tempest of Sets can beat that? I call Shenanigans on that one.

On average single mobs with the exception of chain stunning Yakhmar, I can sustain around 450-500 DPS as a Ranger. With proper positioning and multiple mob pulls, I can sustain 600 DPS when my Piercing Shots hit multiple targets and that is extremely high for a Ranger if you've done any parsings with Rangers.

Tempest of Sets coming in between 600 and 800 DPS while healing, and Demonologists coming in between 800 to 1000 DPS is just nuts and needs to be toned down.

if a ToS had the right spec and was spellweaving, using cooldowns whenever possible and casting LS 100% of the time he could probably top 1000 single target dps with modest gear

of course at that point he's just a nuker

Patch first tacked on another 30 minutes then boosted another 2 hours...

Making the grand total: 4:30 EST until (maybe) US servers coming up.

European servers, from what I hear, received another 5 hours of downtime on top of the prior 5 hour patch they had. Must suck to be the guinea pigs for the US servers. Funcom announcing both delays minutes before the servers were supposed to come back up is just an extra kick to the balls. I guess I wouldn't be whining so much if there was shit in the patch that was worth the wait.
