ToS was never the best AE class I really don't see where people get this from. Even AE grinding Shockblast is (and was) better. ToS is just more steady because they can keep themselves alive and run around pulling while SF was going. And I definitely agree SF needed a nerf, it was just too strong when combined with heals and active blocking and the fact it keeps running if you get knocked down.

Hows the city building in AoC? It's my main draw to the game right now. I understand siege warfare isnt in yet but it will be. The gametrailers review of AoC showed some cities under construction and it got me interested.

Bland.

There are 9 total city spots in the game, multiplied by a limitless # of instances. The only people who will ever see your guild city are you, and the two guilds that share your instance (3 cities * 3 city zones). In every other instance the city in your spot is an exact replica, there is no customization. Same for battlekeeps aside they have the added spice of being able to be fought over for ownership and all.

Our guild has Tier 1 completed and we're currently working through Tier 2. So far the only noticeable benefit we have from our city is the fact that we have a trader in our trade post.

It makes for transportation a million times easier for the guild though. Our Guild City is in Purple Lotus and we bind in Aztel, allows us fast access to the 80 content by letting us directly teleport to purple lotus from Lach.

Golbez which golem boss are you talking about? I don't remember one hitting me that hard and I thought I'd been through the whole damn place. Kesh seemed to be the hardest melee mob.

Can't recall his full name. He was the one standing infront of a shrine. That had corpses around him. He hung around the undead section.

Oh Wenric, yeah we just skip him now and kill the other two placeholders in his room. I never noticed him being as hard as Kesh anyway. I wonder if he's like the scion in that he doesn't always drop loot but he can occasionally.

By the way I have spent fucking endless hours down there killing placeholders. Supposedly tramplerage drops the axe and one of the undead guys drops the 2h blunt. I have seen Trample exactly ONE time in probably 30 hours there, and if we've killed the right undead guy I haven't seen it. It's going to be fucking stupid when I go directly from the crappy level 75 quest reward 2her to the epic one off Vistrix, just because I can't find a level 80 2her worth a shit, and we're not even close to having a tier 3 weaponsmith up yet.

AoC's core mechanics are better than EQ or WoW, but the game needs a few more months of polish. Leveling is super easy: 166 hours (~7 days) to 80 on a PvE server soloing 95% of the time. I could cut that in half if I didn't explore every nook and cranny in the game, try every quest, and complete all my gathering skills. PvP servers aren't much different. After 1 day played I hit level 36, which includes plenty of random PVP. If you have a choice, go with a PVP server. I only started with a PVE server due to friends flocking there.

None of the AoC patches have been groundbreaking, but it looks like Funcom is on the right path. In six months maybe I'll check out the fixed 'end game' if Warhammer fails to go live. For now, I've canceled my AoC account. There's not enough stuff to do at 80 that works.

You say he is too strong? Guess what, I want cooldown on our main nuke (again). Big nerf.
Before that patch the class design was good. That you could not spam your main nuke was an annoyance in the first few levels, but overall it made the class better. Same goes for its other weaknesses like the related low dps or the low defense. They made sense.

Now I deal more dps, fist everything 1v1 and can even kill guardian that pot. Yet the class is less fun, lost one of its core strengths and ZERG reigns supreme
