Could you explain this? I can't log in yet so I don't fully understand what you're on about... is it because LS is more of a "spam it over and over" spell now? Also any chance you could list some #s regarding reports of the damage gap being tigher (i.e. higher minimum and lower maximum), I've been hoping for that change.

edit: nm, I see your point although I don't agree with it.

It is to prevent necros from turning into a hunter-like bow class after 'buffing' their spells.

Well the patch notes for necros showed more buffs than I had seen on first look. Too bad they're only buffing spells that were even more terrible than the usual spells: gelid bones, useless but as a shatter opener, and shatter somewhat sucks for pvp anyway; frost blast, totally worthless since it's impossible to land it on anything and the feat to increase the radius doesn't work; ice strike, which did about 30%less damage than pestilential blast to begin with; and chill, which was and still is only useful to increase damage on blizzard, which was also nerfed along the other AEs, but less so than others so now it's actually "viable" in comparison.

They buffed lich form a bit, which is good, if I didn't have to spent 10feat points into a useless spell that got buffed yet remains still as useless as it was because the main issue with it is the casting time and the range, not the effect.

Good thing they found out they had forgotten since forever that pets didn't have the AE coefficient and that PSS/Unholy hands didn't take into account pet damage for its balance. It was obviously a slight error that slipped through their QA, and not a nice way to explain a gigantic nerf, which a part of was to be expected, but not to that extent.

Oh well there's still Thrusday, for maybe a buff to single target dps so I don't shelf this char forever. Guess I'll go back to my HoX until then, and cry about female attack speed or the fucking dodges showing up at the end of my 4s cast combos instead of right at the start of them.

Tooltip for LS rank 7 states the damage to be - 723-1085.

Not sure if me having Imp. LS talent to 5 has any effect on the tooltip tho.

Rolled a DT alt; I know very little about their Feats. Is this is an okay solo levelling spec :

Well yeah but it's never been that LS doesn't do enough damage. It was just too random. I've been asking for a min. dmg buff/max dmg nerf for a while. Hopefully this alleviates the randomness with LS. Next up, Call of Lightning...

Pretty fucking big yeah. Pretty much means every ToS needs to respec Lightning at 50 to get Titanic Storm for leveling as well.

Yes and no, you can get a feat to increase it to 5 targets, making it a viable leveling tool still. From a balance point of view, if you were pulling more than 5 targets on a regular basis, it was probably overpowered. See necros AE nerfs, and pom nerfs at release.

The class still seems viable to me, just more in line with other powerful leveling classes. And still better than a lot of them. The lighting nerf seems more important to our ToS, they either like it because they can chaincast it on people and less variance, while others bitch because it won't one shot full groups anymore due to changing it from AE to splash and nerfing the radius.

Gah...I always get into these games too late to exploit all the good leveling abilities that aren't nerfed yet.

This makes me itch to download one of those MacroQuest type programs they've already developed for AoC.
