As far as I know, side-stepping is for spells and back-stepping is for melee... so not sure what the above poster meant when there's nothing vs spells.

FWD: chance to stun on melee attacks BACK: increases chance to dodge SIDE: increases resistance to magic I have a 50 Tempest of Set, which in WoW terms, is kind of like an AoE shadow priest. Basically, I put a few HoTs up and then run into a camp of mobs. Then I activate a pulsing damage shield that hits up to like 4 targets, and then activate my storm field, which is a pulsing PBAoE that does insane damage. I also have a quick cast lightning that has a small splash damage component. Once I've got a sufficient number of mobs, (4-10, depending on levels), I double-tap backwards to increase my dodge and then hold X to active block. Combined with my HoTs and a health potion if need be, I can kill a whole lot of mobs very, very quickly with zero downtime. The cool thing about ToS is that with talents, I'm getting massive mana regen on all my damage, so it's much, much more efficient to AE than single or even double pull. Each time I cast my nukes/AEs, my healing gets more powerful, so I keep refreshing the HoTs as I wear the mobs down. It's pretty nuts, but we can still get killed if we pull too many or do something dumb. I'm not sure the ToS is necessarily overpowered, it's just that a lot of other classes are really underpowered by comparison. Part of the appeal of this game is that you are usually taking on at least 3 mobs at once, so you feel mighty.

AOC i think hit that point where it was finished enough, and thats different from unfinished. Ya we had no pvp rewards, unfinished classes, etc etc. But we also had a big guild grind activity in cities, pvp camp competition on pvp servers, reasonably interesting dungeons for solo and group play. A few raid encounters to keep people interested. Plus they managed to do the single player aspects pretty well and blend them into an mmo.

+24 Internets | About evade taps and active blocking they stack, and if you double tap backwards then active block, you're nearing 100% melee immunity, for 2secs or so(tap duration), but you can keep it up for a decent amount of time with a stam pot. It's extremly good. Double tapping sides increases magic avoidance by 10%, but it's really too low to matter. In comparison tap backwards and its 50% evade is much more efficient. Tap forward is not so good because it only gives a chance to stun, so you sometimes waste time/stam trying to stun someone and miss, when you could have used that time more efficienly dpsing or avoiding the spell(repulse). Overall though, it gives a very dynamic fighting where you can actually avoid those big 1shot melee attacks by sheer skill, and a bit of luck, instead of a lot of luck. And to make things clear, double tapping gives a 2secs buff, active blocking has to be maintained(keep key pressed) to get the effect, and you can't do anything during it. That means you can actually tap backwards twice then finish a combo while keeping the evade buff, where active blocking is pretty much a full turtling strat. |

| Stop running back to old times | I'm saying it no has no effect on casters b/c the 50% miss is for melee. Endurance doesn't matter to them, same reason they can sprint away from all melee while they need their endurance to do any thing. On the mitigate dmg I meant spell dmg. |

| What I dont get is how many players dont know about active blocking, in PUGs its a shame how players die to melee mobs while they still have stamina, there is no excuse. Also the concept of conehealing (so dont fucking run around and away from your healer) and mostly heals over time seems hard to understand. one big heal a minute = you start active blocking and let the HoTs do their magic or you die sta potions > all |

*shrug* Someday they will realize that all that running back and forth through zones is not meaningful or entertaining.

+1 Internets | Yeah especially when I get a memleak hang on zoning every 3-4 times that I zone. Doing the TR<->Atzels thing at the moment and it's so bloody tedious I've decided to just grind in Atzels until I can quest most of it and then go to TR. |

| The trip is not too bad but I would hate to do that shit on foot. Getting a horse has made travel so much more enjoyable for me. Can't see getting the faster version anytime this year but I imagine they rock! ![]() |

+24 Internets | Glad they buffed horse speed, it does make leveling less painful. You can pretty much do thunder river in one go though, the later parts are only 65, assuming you get there at 60, you'll hit 61 on the first quests, which makes the end doable. Then you never have to come back unless you do prison instance. |

| For the love of god, are a good amount of you playing on one particular server? Or is there a group that would welcome in their guild who is starting over? I cant take playing solo anymore. Just no fun without knowing anyone =\ |
